They explode in a good way, right? Our ideological opponents also tend to explode when her name comes up, only in a bad way. But what do they care? Every lever of power now belongs to them. We are so screwed, Saxby or not.

Yep ... on Glenn Beck’s show, Saxby described her as electric and what happens to the audience when she appears as electric. Well, it sure as heck fire is energizing. The bunny ain’t got nuttin on our Sarah.

When She Walks in a Room, Folks Just Explode

Can we get her inside the Democratic Caucus for just a few minutes?

It’s true - I went to a Sarah Rally right before the election, and the reaction of the crowd was exactly this. All the other semi B list celebrities (including BobDole) got polite applause but any sighting of Sarah - the crowd reacted like the old Beatlemania days. I can’t define “it” but whatever “it” is, Sarah definitely has “it”.

John McCain draws 2000 to a Chambliss Rally
Mitt Romney draws 200 to a Chambliss Rally(LOL 200, pathetic)
Sarah Palin, same location, draws 5000

NUFF SAID!! Sarah is AMAZING. She walks into a room, people listen, people take notice. I’ve only seen this one other time, and that was with Ronald Reagan, when he spoke, people listened, the media hated Reagan, called him every name in the book, same thing that is happening to Sarah, why, because she IS the female Reagan and they fear that. Sarah is the REAL DEAL.

Maybe the RINO will take it to heart and start acting as a conservative.

I believe Chambliss has seen the light so to speak. Good for him. Maybe he will remember where he comes from when voting from now on. I cannot believe both Georgia senators voted for the bailout.

Can you believe that she has been in the national spotlight for 3 full months (95 days exact). Imagine what she can do after 3 years. She is one of those amazing politicians that happen once in a blue moon.

Yep ... she’s my “screen saver” ... lights up my computer every day! :-) I hope ol Sax did see the light. We may be able to stop some bad things from happening, but we’ve got to keep OUR guys on OUR side of the aisle! Snow, Graham, McCain ... TILT!

So was Jesse Ventura.

At this point, Sarah Palin is nothing more than a celebrity.

She has the advantages of being fresh, entertaining, and drop-dead gorgeous -- which are precisely the same qualities that define every other infobabe on cable. She is also unabashedly conservative ... but that also describes people like Elisabeth Hasselbeck or Anne Coulter.

It's not enough, though, if Sarah Palin wants to be more than just a flash in the pan.

What she really needs to do now, is get serious about being an effective Governor of Alaska for this and the next term. She has to establish herself as a serious politician -- somebody who can actually lead, and who can articulate and implement a serious conservative agenda.

What do you think she’s been doing up in Alaska for the last 2 years: twiddling her thumbs and baking cookies? Sarah has a track record which any governor of the other 49 states would be proud to boast. She, as Obama put, is no longer ‘the mayor of Wasilly’.

Already done. She defeated an incumbent Republican governor and went on the win the governorship in Alaska. She fought corruption among Republican ranks, showing courage of character.

She’s been in the fire before. To day she’s nothing more than a celebrity is a distortion of her record.

True -- but she wasn't a national figure then. She was essentially an unknown, which is precisely why the MSM was so successful in defining her. The fact is, they made her look like somebody right out of a Garrison Kiellor story.

She's got a handicap now: many folks compare her to Dan Quayle. To overcome that, she needs to become more than a celebrity -- which is really all she is, at this point.

Unlike Quayle, however, Ms. Palin has a real chance of changing peoples' minds: she's a sitting governor, who therefore has the means of establishing herself as a truly serious player. She should concentrate on being an effective governor for the next few years.

I agree, she's done all that. But none of that gained any serious national attention. For most Americans, she was an almost complete unknown. And for that reason, she basically has no "record" prior to her selection as McCain's running mate.

Let's be honest: you wouldn't look to her for guidance or advice about the current India/Pakistan crisis. She draws crowds because she's fun, exciting, and beautiful. That's why, right now, she's a celebrity, rather than a serious future presidential candidate.

It's not a knock on her -- it's just where she is right now.

She needs to establish a reputation beyond mere celebrity. People need to see her as somebody more serious than they do right now. The first step is making sure that she is an effective and successful governor.
