This is the United States of America- Get Over It!!!
Vanity so Vanity

Posted on 11/04/2008 8:08:22 PM PST by mnehring

If everyone else is going to post a Vanity, so will I..

This is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! We where born of revolution, we where tested with wars, we where cleansed with Civil War, we've overcome Depressions, Recessions, World Wars, Carters and Clintons.

Have we forgotten the power of Conservatism, the power of the individual in spite of the system, not because of it.

Suck it up and move on.. remember your core beliefs, the power of the individual. Remember John Galt's oath.

..most importantly, remember, we are the rebels now.. we are the anti-establishment..
The Liberals are "the man", "the establishment", "the system", Big Brother... All of the weight is on their shoulders. they have no one to rebel against..

Regroup and focus..Stop your whining.. We are Conservatives.. this is the USA.. we will Overcome!!!!

Pray for our president, even if you disagree, for over half your country chose him.. pray for him to do what is right, pray for his safety, and pray for this country..

Polly, take heart, do not be defeatist. There is still a lot we can do. For one thing, we need to see what straying from our principles (fiscal responsibility, strong borders, small govt) has done to us, and we need to fix that before we can come out of this.

Defeat can be an opportunity to really see what is wrong on our side and fix it.

It is yours to decide soldier. You make your future. Your future isn’t decided by who is elected. The future is in your hands as an individual. Sarge, remember your core. You may not like your CIC, but the USA is more than power.. third world countries make or break based on one person, not us.. I know from personal chats, you have doubts.. but hold heart.. ooh rah.. I believe in this country!

Man, you’re really taking the tough road. I’ll give it a try.

It occurs to me that Jesus Himself loves Obama, as He loves all men. Lord knows that’s enough to help me through this.

Agreed (mostly. “It” will NEVER be my president), and I repost this from another thread:

Yes, this is a tragic turn for our country, and one that I have been dreading and praying against for many months. However, that being said, we all have to remember a few things:

First of all, this is America, and her heart and her spirit will NEVER be broken, no matter how many evildoers may find themselves in power over the years. This government is by the people, for the people, with the consent of the governed. We here at FR know that “the governed” have been duped in a major way by the MSM and their sociopathic candidate, but once the loons are in full control, they will discover that they’ve been had, and then you will see the American spirit come spewing out like Old Faithful. The majority of Americans will not take wel to black militias in their streets, having their guns grabbed, having their voice silenced on talk radio, having their daughters and sons drafted, forcing states to be party to homosexual agendas including being forced to recognize “gay marriage”, having their secret ballot rights taken away, giving unfettered rights to illegals, having all restrictions on abortions removed in all states by force, and working more than half the year to give it away to those who don’t work at all. AIN’T gonna happen. Which brings me to the next thing we must remember:

We don’t have to sit by while this Manchurian Candidate and his minions destroy our precious country. We have representatives, they have phones and email, and we have loud voices. We cannot afford complacency in the next few years - we must stay on top of every piece of legislation they try to pass, and let them know that if they like having their behinds in those cushy senate or house seats, they had best vote in the best interests of their constituents. We all know that they listen, we hold the power to fire their butts. So we need to crack the whip and remind them from whence their job comes.Therefor, NO drafts, NO militias, NO cutting military spending, NO FOCA, NO rescinding DOMA, etc.

Next thing we need to remember: in two years, our votes (those who actually think before voting, and who make it a point to stay informed) will count exponentially more than it did today, because the sheeple won’t bother to vote. Therefor, we can overturn the Dummie majorities or at least reduce them, thereby increasing our leverage in the legislature.

Lastly, now the media will relax their guard a little because their goal has apparently been accomplished (a feat they will rue the day for), so we will have an easier time exposing the beast for what he really is, so that in 4 years he will be as popular as Jimmah, and, as a sad aside, he will have set the AA cause back at least 20 years.

So, its time to stock up on our guns and ammo before he attempts to restrict our access, and then it is time to begin planning his ouster, along with reversing the Dim majorities in Congress.

We are FReepers, we are not the kind of people who hide and whimper. We are movers and shakers and activists, and have a powerful voice, so buck up and lets take our country back!!!!

God Bless America once again.

I’m looking at the Real Clear Politics site. I can’t watch the assholes on TV. Washington state went for McCain? I can’t believe that! Has the pendulum already starting swinging back or what?

I completely agree. A few of the people on this site are starting to embarrass me.

We just have to play the cards we're dealt.

Either Obama will have his hands tied and things won't change much or things will change greatly and everything will tank which will give us the chance to regroup.

I want to give a big high-five to John and Sarah for doing their best.

But I still need to wait until all the votes are counted, and all the vote fraud lawsuits are done with.

Amen. I was going to post my own vanity but then I saw yours, which would make mine redundant.

Barack Obama will be our President. Liberals whine when they experience defeat. Let’s show that we are better than that, that our lives are worthwhile not because of politicians but despite politicians.

Unlike liberals, we love our country and will never hope for national misfortune in order to win elections.

I’m listening to Atlas Shrugged on my iPod as I type this. Too funny. You are right on target. This country has been dipping its toes in the frigid pond of socialism for seventy years, testing those waters, flirting with them. Now it’s going to jump into that pond stark naked. Maybe it’s a curiosity that’s come of age. But it will learn its lesson once those freezing waters hit.

Right on, brother man. Those that don’t get over it are going to be miserable for a long time. Many of us are hopeful that President Obama WILL bring change: An end to the divisiveness of the past twenty years would be most welcome. It’s my hope that now that he’s won, that his victory will be so significant as to be a true mandate of the people’s faith in the executive to get this worthless Congress in line and start getting some actual work done, and I don’t believe that the Pelosi’s and the Reid’s of the legislature can necessarily count on an ally in the White House: THEY did not put Mr. Obama there, the American people did.

Unfortunately, will be Commander in Chief of the US Armed Forces. If you don’t want to pray for Obama, pray for his judgment to be the CIC. Pray for his heart to be opened. Pray for his judgment. Don’t hold hate, hold hope (for lack of a better term).. pray for those he commands, pray for those he commands.. pray for those he commands..

Never doubt faith, never doubt the power of the individual, never doubt conservatism..

oh yea.. Palin 2012!

..and pray, not out of hate, but out of faith.

Obama promised things he couldn’t deliver even if the economy was growing by leaps and bounds, much less in these times. Think how angry those folks are going to be in two years, especially the ones who are intelligent enough to realize they were duped. In two years we can start cleaning up congress. You know we need to clean it up, many, on both sides of the house have been in there too long and are corrupted by the system.

I think it will times will become even more difficult, but we will pull through. At least we have something to fall back on. Pity the poor schmucks who think Obama is going to fill their gas tank, pay their mortgage, etc.

Next time guys, lets get a real conservative candidate. We had some good choices, we went center until we offered no real choice to the voters.

In two years we have to be in the position of taking back the country from the inevitable disaster that 0bama will lead us to.

And 2 or 3 or 4 generations to undo the damage the new supreme court will do.
