I see several familiar faces like anniegetyourgun, genefromjersey, etc.. Feb 03 seems like 100 years ago. I never got an answer from CNN or MSNBC in Nov 01. But I sent this to a lot of friends via email and the dang thing evidently struck a lot of nerves mostly good. They sent it to friends who sent it to friends who.... I had a guy from Portland OR reply to me that it really put things in perspective for him and Personal was how he would now treat it because it could have been him or someone he cared about. The only negative responses have come from liberals who could not frame a counterpoint outside of the ones I had framed for them in the missive/essay. I love America. Protag hasn't called yet. If he follows through on his threat, I'll just point the number to a recording and get a new one which will take 15 seconds. I love being in telecom somedays. I hate my job but love the work.

Mmmm, pinto beans and cornbread. Actually I was going to ping Carlo3b, the resident professional chef, but I felt it wasn't too appropriate to ask him how to properly cook brains.

This is what I'm thinking: soak the brains in salted water for an hour or so. Pat the brains dry with paper towels and set aside. Melt butter in a large skillet, then add minced shallots. Immediately add chopped mushrooms when the shallots start to brown. Slice the brains in thin slices and saute in the butter mixture, adding salt and pepper to taste. Finish off with cooking sherry, and reduce liquid over medium heat. Serve with steamed carrots in lemon butter, with mashed potatoes, or wild rice, and Parker House rolls.
