The Hole frontwoman opened up about being perceived as "difficult" in a new interview with 'The Standard'
Courtney Love never aspired to be "liked."
In an interview with The Standard, the Hole frontwoman, 59, opened up about being perceived as more prickly to the public.
"People used to say that I was so difficult,’ Love told the outlet. "They said I was disagreeable. Yes, I am completely disagreeable and I’m never going to apologize for that. I always wanted to be known as a bitch. Being liked was never my thing."
She went onto explain that her late husband Kurt Cobain "wanted to be liked," however she wasn't looking for that same praise.
"He was able to hide behind me, but then I got hated. Then Kurt died, and the hatred towards me reached a completely new level. I did not plan for that," Love said.
The "Doll Parts" singer added: "I had a bitch capacity and I was cool with not being liked. I saw Bob Dylan in Don’t Look Back and he didn’t want to be liked and I thought, yeah, I want to be like that."

Nevertheless, Cobain's death scene seems to have been staged. Cobain had enough heroin in his system to induce immediate unconsciousness, yet he supposedly rolled down his sleeves, stowed his syringe and works, and then shot himself in the face with a shotgun.
Plausibly, Cobain was killed in the main house before being put into the greenhouse where he was found with a fraudulent suicide note. Notably, Courtney Love acted oddly and suspiciously. Kurt apparently intended to divorce her, but dead by suicide he was worth a fortune to her.
This doesn’t help her case that she didn’t have anything to do with the satanic ritual sacrifice aspect of Cobain’s death.
Wow that brings back some memories! And I loved that album at the time…I should dig it out and listen to see if it’s still as good as it was back then…
I love “Violet”. Normally not a fan of women screaming while singing but this is a cool song.
