The Hole frontwoman opened up about being perceived as "difficult" in a new interview with 'The Standard'
Courtney Love never aspired to be "liked."
In an interview with The Standard, the Hole frontwoman, 59, opened up about being perceived as more prickly to the public.
"People used to say that I was so difficult,’ Love told the outlet. "They said I was disagreeable. Yes, I am completely disagreeable and I’m never going to apologize for that. I always wanted to be known as a bitch. Being liked was never my thing."
She went onto explain that her late husband Kurt Cobain "wanted to be liked," however she wasn't looking for that same praise.
"He was able to hide behind me, but then I got hated. Then Kurt died, and the hatred towards me reached a completely new level. I did not plan for that," Love said.
The "Doll Parts" singer added: "I had a bitch capacity and I was cool with not being liked. I saw Bob Dylan in Don’t Look Back and he didn’t want to be liked and I thought, yeah, I want to be like that."

Dave Grohl blames Courney for Kurt’s death. He wrote a great song about it, “Let it Die”.
“It’s a song that’s written about feeling helpless to someone else’s demise. I’ve seen people lose it all to drugs and heartbreak and death. It’s happened more than once in my life, but the one that’s most noted is Kurt. And there are a lot of people that I’ve been angry with in my life, but the one that’s most noted is Courtney. So it’s pretty obvious to me that those correlations are going to pop up every now and again.”
I think Courtney Love’s daughter does. She was emancipated at some age.
