What is known is that the agreement covers the US and its entire coalition operating in Syria, for both manned and unmanned systems. It also provides some guidelines on what frequencies pilots should us to communicate with each other if needed.

The video released by the Russian MoD yesterday likely kicked this into high gear. They were using it as an example of “Dangerous American practices” over Syria.
It showed a Russian fighter shadowing an armed Reaper Drone from a hundred feet away, filmed from the fighter.
You must have gotten that information from somewhere else because I did not find it after reading the article three times.
Please tell me where you got this information.

Still...I don’t think I’ll be taking any Malaysian Air flights over Syria.
Interesting though. Commercial flights still continue over Syria and Iraq.
