That’s true.

Do you think garlic would help keep them away?

Hold on a minute! That’s downright offensive, right there.

I mean, sure, I’m obnoxious, offensive and moronic On a regular basis - but I would NEVER blame it on Jesus.

Her point is that people behave that way in the name of Jesus.

As did the opus-ing FReeper who claimed to be a "gnostic Christian".

John 13:34-35

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

He knew it would be hard to do.

I’m with you on not doing away with the Religion Forum.
I find it interesting and I learn from it. I may not agree with some of the posters but that’s ok.

For example;
http://www.gnosis.org/gnintro.htm
“Like Buddhism, Gnosticism begins with the fundamental recognition that earthly life is filled with suffering. In order to nourish themselves, all forms of life consume each other, thereby visiting pain, fear, and death upon one another (even herbivorous animals live by destroying the life of plants). ....

Many religions advocate that humans are to be blamed for the imperfections of the world. Supporting this view, they interpret the Genesis myth as declaring that transgressions committed by the first human pair brought about a “fall” of creation resulting in the present corrupt state of the world. Gnostics respond that this interpretation of the myth is false. The blame for the world’s failings lies not with humans, but with the creator. Since — especially in the monotheistic religions — the creator is God, this Gnostic position appears blasphemous, and is often viewed with dismay even by non-believers.”

That was interesting.

I’m not a Christian, (I’m a “heretical” Gnostic) but Jesus said a lot of wise things. Best we ALL think on his words. I’m not perfect, but the posters who think they are, are in for a great surprise.

Amen to that!
Or, maybe just "what two134711 said"

Your words do not fall on deaf ears. I’m a “newbie” and have been very surprised by religious attacks. In particular, anti-catholic hatred is like a sport here. Very confusing at a time when the values we all love are under attack. Very confusing.

My point was to make a silly joke.

You post a thread talking about people and don’t even ping them?

And it was cute. Honest. But people DO blame Jesus. And God. You’re just not one of them. :-)

Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

Seems Jesus said a lot of things people don't understand.

I don’t speak to people who think Christianity is a blood sport. I won’t respond to you again.

Oh it's more than a blood sport. We're talking eternity. Christ didn't allow false teaching without condemning it and neither will I.

You and your ilk should be ashamed of yourselves. You don’t have a spark of humanity or Christian spirit.

If scripture and it’s defence causes that much angst perhaps these threads should be avoided.

I just read every post - rather like watching a 150 car pile-up in slow motion. Too fascinating to avert one's gaze!

Let me inject a little Bible talk here on the subject of leaving FR:

To whom shall we go? Here are the words of everlasting strife!
