I’m not sure about the article, but his post 1 seems to indicate a conspiracy theory. Set-up some mexican guy to throw rocks at cars and police, which obviously leads to getting shot by the police, which then allows one to start protests, manage the conversation around immigration, etc.

Shooting a guy in the back to stop him from fleeing a felony is justifiable homicide in the State of Washington for a citizen. The rules for cops may be more strict, unless the cops thought he was going to additional harm - which he was - he was still holding a rock.

From the earlier video I wouldn’t be surprised if he was shot in the back and wounded, ran, the cop caught up to him, he turned to throw another rock, and the cop put the deadly rounds into him from the front or side.

When police order you to cease and desist your illegal activities, you WILL cease and desist those behaviors, or the police will cease and desist you if you pose a threat to them or make it impossible for them to arrest you. Seems reasonable to me. It cannot be any other way. This is true no matter how trivial the original offense is. The deadly events described in this article took place directly as a result of the actions of the deceased and no one else, imho.

One thing I'd love to experience that can never happen is to hear English (preferably spoken with a southern accent), as a person who doesn't understand English. Perhaps I can somehow unlearn English, but what a hassle that would be eh?

I can only imagine how melodic and beautiful Southern-US American English sounds to a person who doesn't understand a word of it.

Why was it shocking? He committed assault with a deadly weapon.

If she’s throwing rocks at moving cars she could cause a lethal accident(s) to occur. Not much sympathy in this particular case.

That’s an interesting thought and probably true for some. I had a southern drawl in the past, but it’s going away. Maybe the perception would also depend on the listener’s language. For example, one Chinese fellow said that we westerners sound like snarling wolves when talking.

:-)

Exactly right, and it’s a stunt the left pulls on a regular basis because they can use it to hype their version of an incident. The word “Homicide” as used in an autopsy finding, simply means death at the hands of another. If the cause is determined, and it’s not suicide, natural causes, or misadventure (accident) it’ll be listed as homicide. The word, as used in an autopsy report, makes no judgment as to whether the killing was unlawful or not.

Honestly, posts like this scare me. Can you really be FOR shooting people because they might not stop an "illegal behavior" at a cops request? Is running from the cops illegal? Is turning to face a cop illegal?

Wait, I thought it said she was throwing rocks? If so she was not unarmed.
I can punch you in the face and hurt you. I can throw a rock into your face and possibly kill you.

Yup.

Homicide simply means death causes by another human. It doesn’t necessary mean it’s unlawful or intentional.

Technically, I think cops *do* have the right (and duty) to order someone to stop “illegal behavior.”

I know what you are saying, Rabin. We are coming up on “brown lives matter.” Even if they are throwing rocks.

I watched the video at the source. There are sounds like gunshots, then the guy rips across the street followed by four police. He stops, turns, and puts his hands together in front of him just as he would if he was aiming a gun. The cops shoot. Stupid dead guy.

I don't have a civil right to break the law and victimize you. And if in so doing my activity poses a serious threat to an innocent victim or to a cop (running away usually doesn't do that) who is trying to arrest me, then of course the cop can escalate and escalate and escalate until there is nothing left to do but end my life.

I don't know where people get the harebrained idea that because we have inviolable constitutional freedoms in this country that we can go around freely victimizing the rest of society our entire lives without consequence or interference from the police. The cops ARE going to interfere. That's their job. They are going to stop you, or try to. And if you don't get that, you are going to die and the rest of us won't be shedding any tears for you. The law-abiding citizen has rights, too, and the cops are there to enforce them.

I guess you should not throw rocks at armed cops. What would happen if he was throwing rocks like that at the Mexican police? We all know that answer.

The Denver Police Department said officers opened fire on Hernandez when she drove a stolen car toward them.

This gal was fresh out of jail for car theft. 16 years old. The car she was in was in an alley. Neighbors called in a suspicious vehicle. She pinned a cop to a wall with the car. Local media had her crying mother on TV, speaking Spanish. The public response was "little bitch deserved it".
