Certifigate Enters a New Phase

I'm not normally given to posting at Free Republic because my politics generally lie elsewhere, but I think the latest "story" about Obama's birth certificate from CNN really shows that the end is near for the lies on this issue. According to reports:

TVNewser has learned CNN/U.S. president Jon Klein sent an email to a handful of "Lou Dobbs Tonight" staffers last night regarding the coverage of the so-called birthers and the validity of Pres. Obama's birth in the U.S.

In part, Klein writes, "It seems this story is dead- because anyone who still is not convinced doesn't really have a legitimate beef." Klein asked CNN researchers to dig into the question of why Obama couldn't produce the original birth certificate. The researchers contacted the Hawaii Health Dept. and confirmed that paper documents were discarded in 2001 when the department went paperless. That reportedly includes Pres. Obama's original birth certificate.

This is a really important statement, if true. Number one, it directly refutes the statements being made by everyone from Robert Gibbs to Chris Matthews that Obama has already released his birth certificate. It also directly contradicts a statement made by the State of Hawaii Director of Health in 2008:

"Therefore, I as Director of Health for the State of Hawai‘i, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawai‘i State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures," Fukino said.

Finally, there's simply no way that the State of Hawaii discarded all of their original vital records without first scanning them onto tapes, discs, whatever. The actual image of the original birth certificate would still be there, available for public viewing, even if the actual paper document has been destroyed.

Well you have said that a couple of times and I saw the original quote. And given the condition of the public record, anything is possible.

All of the loose hearsay about the actual birth certificate references Coast Hospital outside Mombasa on the other side of the country; the woman doctor who was with the British Health Service who has been identified both on the purported birth certificate and by other hearsay testimony as the doctor who delivered him might have been assigned to the Coast Hospital but is unlikely to have been delivering babies out in the brush. Coast Hospital is where they were planning to erect a monument to his birth.

Now none of that is substantive--who knows. I tend to the Coast Hospital theory also in part because it is closer to the beaten track through Nariobi to Vancouver on BOAC and since I also believe it will turn out that in fact she got him all the way to Hawaii by the 8th (actually five days because of the time difference), I think she needed to have delivered pretty close to an air terminal.

Obviously, you are way ahead of me on this. Can you bring me up to speed a little bit? Where did all this come from, do you have a citation? If not, would it be too much trouble to explain this?

Too late, we are already there. Bush’s bailout the call’s to congress were 100 to 1 against, they still passed it without reading. Next comes Obamasocialist’s TARP, again the public was about 80-90 percent against, they passed it.

Now they will put Sotomayor on the SC. And yes they will pass the health bill and TARP III and cap and trade.

Sotomayor needs one republican to vote yes in order for her to get a vote on the senate floor. None other then Lindsey Graham will provide that 1 vote.

No I’m not generally in favor of privacy rights for any elected official. I think it’s perfectly reasonable to expect that the POTUS would release for public view a certified copy of his original birth certificate, particularly given that it is relevant to his constitutional qualifications for that position. I thought the personal attacks against Sarah Palin were excessive and counterproductive, but I was also not too impressed with her abilities, and thought that McCain probably choose her more for her ass than her brains.

Daily Kos and post that comment. FYI, I can’t even trace how far back my ancestors came to America. I played Little League, had a newspaper route, etc. Pretty normal American. But the fact that you don’t think normal Americans use words such as those says volumes about yourself.
