House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil on Thursday subpoenaed 15 Biden cabinet officials for documents related to “Bidenbucks,” President Biden’s executive order to turn as many federal agencies as possible into get-out-the-vote centers across all states. On May 15, Steil requested the Cabinet secretaries provide materials regarding their work on Executive Order 14019, often referred to by critics as “Bidenbucks.” However, Steil has not received the requested documents, resulting in his issuing the subpoenas. A judge ruled Wednesday that Michigan’s Democrat Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s guidance telling election officials to presume the validity of absentee ballot signatures is unconstitutional. During the 2020 election, Benson sent out guidance to election officials “that included a presumption of validity for voters’ signatures on absentee-ballot applications and absentee ballots processed at the local level,” the ruling from Court of Claims Judge Christopher Yates explains. The Michigan Republican Party and the Allegan County clerk initially challenged the presumption of validity provision, and the Court of Claims “determined that the guidance was impermissible.” In response to the ruling, the...

The Biden administration “strongly opposes” a proposal to raise the pay of junior enlisted service members in the military — even after nearly spending seven times the proposed amount on Ukraine and the broader region’s security. The House Armed Services Committee’s (HASC) draft of the 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) would give all junior troops a pay raise, representing a rough total of $24.4 billion over five years, according to the Congressional Budget Office. The Biden administration said in a statement on Tuesday that it does not support the proposed “significant, permanent” pay hike until it has had a...

"Donald Trump and fellow Republicans expressed disappointment and dissatisfaction with Tuesday’s guilty verdict for Hunter Biden on three felony gun charges, a ruling that undermines Trump’s narrative that President Joe Biden has weaponized the DOJ against the former president. Hunter Biden was found guilty of lying on a gun application by denying his drug use at the time. Trump reacted by voicing unexpected support for the younger Biden. “It’s hard to blame him for wanting a gun, which is his God-given right under the 2nd Amendment,” Trump said in a statement, calling it the “best Amendment of them all.”"
