I am a typical stay-at-home-mom who happens to also be regional coordinator and chair for an organization called the "United American Committee", an organization working to stop Islamofascism at the grassroots level. There's a lot we can do as ordinary citizens, and there's a lot we should do.Because I strongly believe that if we sit around and do nothing, the America our grandchildren live in will look a lot different. I'm not trying to sound like an alarmist, and if some of you think I sound like a total lunatic, I won't be offended! However, if you look at countries like the U.K. and France and what they're going through with Islamic militants, is it not reasonable to say we're headed in the same direction?
One thing I would like to make clear is, neither I nor the UAC is an anti-Muslim organization. We are actively seeking truly moderate muslims to work with us to help eradicate the threat of Islamic militancy on U.S. soil. We recently sent out a letter to masjids and mosques all over the country asking them to issue a fatwa against Osama Bin Laden and Ayman Al-Zawahiri, but so far there has been no response. However,we will continue to try and work with these Islamic leaders.
