Antonio C. “Tony” Amador
Occupation: United States Marshal

My education and qualifications: I reside in Lodi after 40 years of service to our state and nation. I have served as a Los Angeles Police Officer and as the President of the Los Angeles Police Protective League. I was responsible for the passage of the Police Officers’ Bill of Rights. I was appointed by various Governors to key law enforcement positions in state government. Most recently President Bush appointed me as U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of California.

I am a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment; I am pro-life and support the sanctity of marriage. As an Army veteran, I believe in a strong national defense which begins by securing our borders. I oppose any government takeover of healthcare.

We desperately need to get people back to work by having government get out of the way of small businesses and cut taxes to allow expansion and growth. We must also guarantee sufficient water for our farms.

I am fortunate to have the support of my good friend Tom McClintock, with whom I share the same principles and values. I am proud to stand with Tom McClintock in a pledge to oppose deficit causing earmarks as well as supporting the “no new taxes” pledge.

Our district needs someone who will question the leadership of both parties and speak for what is right. Our district needs a “Tough Leader for Tough Times.” I am the person who will stand up for you in Congress.
