USMC 1951 thru 1972. Went in two weeks after graduation from Paola High School (Paola KS) at age 17. Fought in Korea, and Viet Nam with the Dominican Republic thrown in for good measure. Spent fifteen years as an enlisted man. Was a Master Sergeant when I was commissioned during the Viet Nam conflict. Retired as a captain. Got involved with Civil Air Patrol after retirement. Was the Georgia Wing Commander from 1989-91. It is a great organization. Now living in Marietta.
