As a politically conservative, Orthodox Jew, I am disturbed that the pervasive feeling among Americans is that Jews are liberal. This is because they have abandoned Torah based Orthodox Judaism (this includes Joe Lieberman) and embraced American liberalism. Authentic Torah based Judaism stresses personal responsibilty, achievement, and punishment of evil as a deterent to wrongdoing. There is an article in an Early June 1967 isssue (I will try to research the exact date, it's been a while) of the New York Times Magazine detailing how FDR and his secretary of state ignored and covered up the information that was coming out of Europe about the ongoing holocaust, thereby sentencing tens if not hundreds of thousands of Jews to their deaths. If any Jew were to read it, I don't believe he could ever vote Democrat again. If anyone has questions on Torah (real) Judaism, feel free to ask.
