I look at modern liberals and I just shake my head. Here is Michael Moore, who calls himself liberal, supporting the insurgents in Iraq and comparing them favorably to the men who fought our revolution. By the standards of their day our revolutionaries were liberal in the best sense of the word, fighting for self-government and the inalienable rights of all mankind. These insurgents are by the standards of ANY day or age, reactionary in their view of human liberty, woman, and religion. Their victory would lead to a new dark age, not just in Iraq, but through out the arab world and it would unquestionably lead to death and destruction for many more Westerners and Jews. Just goes to show, any enemy of the republican party is a friend of theirs no matter what the cost in human suffering.
