Saint Augustine of Hippo: EVER ANCIENT, EVER NEW

Late have I loved you, O Beauty ever ancient, ever new, late have I loved you! You were within me, but I was outside, and it was there that I searched for you. In my unloveliness I plunged into the lovely things which you created. You were with me, but I was not with you. Created things kept me from you; yet if they had not been in you they would have not been at all. You called, you shouted, and you broke through my deafness. You flashed, you shone, and you dispelled my blindness. You breathed your fragrance on me; I drew in breath and now I pant for you. I have tasted you, now I hunger and thirst for more. You touched me, and I burned for your peace.

Who is GADEL? What can he offer? Well, I am just one of the unworthy vessels of the Potter. I might not be qualified to be your president. I might not be responsible enough to be your father. I might not be well educated to be your instructor. I might not be privileged to be the Pope. I might not be wise as Solomon, Plato, Socrates, Augustine, Jerome, Aquinas, Newman, Newton, Einstein or your college professor, but I am good enough to recognized the Truth and point to it. I think that is the best service in this age of intellectual slavery. I am free in my thinking as far as I stick to the Truth. Christ Jesus is this Truth! You might not like me and I do understand. The Truth is a bitter medicine and many are comfortable with the sweet poison of lies, deceptions and compromises. I am not perfect yet. The Potter is still working on me daily and I am humbled by this fact. I speak the Truth as I know it and I'll continue to speak and point to the Truth. Would you like me? Would you hate me? Would you avoid me? That is your choice not mine. Truth is my only choice and I'll continue to choose and stand by the Truth as far as I remain in the grace of Almighty God, my only hope of glory.

The two great pillars upon which the Church of Christ were build upon, Sts. Peter and Paul, whose gifts and heavenly rewards no one after them will surpass, all died as martyrs. Peter was crucified upside down and Paul was beheaded. They were used by the Holy Spirit than any of us will ever be used yet they died these horrible but glorious death. Do you think Almighty God plays die with the universe?
