I have worked for three Presidents -- Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. When President Johnson appointed me I was the youngest Ambassador in the nation's history. I still hold the record. I was only 21 years old. I represented the President at an internaional student organization and invited students around the world at attend HemisFair '68 -- Texas' World Fair. I also officially welcomed international official visitors to HemisFair along with the Ambassador to HemisFair. I am from Texas. Later I was appointed an Ambassador by President Carter at the urging of Katherine Graham. I served President Clinton the entire 8 years. I have known him since 1971. Yes, I am a Democrat.
