Edwin Firmage is a pioneer in digital fine art photography. To create his photographs, Mr. Firmage uses a large format camera (Linhof Technikardan 45s), scans the resulting film (typically Fuji Velvia) on a drum scanner (Heidelberg Tango), and prints the scanned files on an Iris giclee printer using watercolor paper. Mr. Firmage photographs throughout the western U.S., especially in the national parks (Glacier, Yellowstone, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, etc.). He is the author of Simple Gifts: Photographs and Reflections from the Landscape, a collector¹s edition book of photographs and essays on the landscape as a place of renewal, coauthored with, among others, the Dalai Lama.
