Raised in a mostly Irish American Catholic neighborhood, three grandparents born in Ireland, of whom several were of Dutch and French descent. My Irish ancestors lived in towns and cities where bridges were important, I was born in San Francisco where there are two prominent bridges. So I chose the name “droichead” meaning bridge in the Irish (gaelic) language. Fourth grandparent born in California of Irish and Native American ancestry. I love to learn about other cultures, travel and study languages.
