______________ My perspective really opened up when our laboratory accepted a black trainee from The Bahamas. A most delightful fellow—as well as his visiting colleagues—whose only gripe was being watched by store employees as a prospective shoplifter. (!) Need an employee? Hire a Bahamian. They’re doing something RIGHT over thereGOLDWATER "Barry was the Bomb! I worked to draft him in ‘62". At 20½, I was too young to vote for him but attended a Richard Nixon college rally and asked for a poster. The Goldwater poster was displayed one dormitory floor above a Lyndon Johnson poster which had irked me for weeks! I heard encouraging chuckles from the parking lot below. One day later, returning from class, I saw the Lyndon Johnson poster had been taken down. Vacuously, I returned to my dorm room to study. Answering a knock on my door I was accosted by two "dormitory monitors": "Take down that political poster, or you'll be kicked out of this dormitory". (!) _____________________

Regarding Trump's assassination attempt: Since we're not looking at a "photo-stopped" bullet, it would be more accurate to take another of his [new 50] cartridges and fire it through a screen that measures such velocities across that known distance. https://www.sierrabullets.com/exterior-ballistics/2-3-1-initial-velocity-and-final-velocity-method/ I am saying this as a retired "Forensic Ballistics" examiner of 27 years, who never was required to determine bullet velocities for the courtroom. ------------------------

1) The “latest” 22lr bullet lodged in President Reagan contained a tiny silvery cylinder of explosive. (Lead azide in “Devastator” cartridges). 2) A highly-resourceful friend sent a “burst” series of pix featuring President Trump’s right ear. (”Dave” knows everything about firearms—I just do the microscope part) In slow motion, an actual bloodless hole is easily seen in one of the frames. The hole is in the middle of the upper, featureless, outer ear. Viewed from President Trump’s right side, it appears in the 11 o’clock position.

Never mind. The photos, though quickly posted are possibly photoshoped.____________

"Selective immigration, very selective, maybe but not the invasion we have had. Let's get rid of those first" ^ Returning from Europe in 1990, I shared a seat row with a married couple from The Netherlands. In perfect English, it developed they were nuclear scientists heading to become Canadian citizens. I asked, Why not U.S. citizenry? They replied that they had tried last year, but faced a hostile panel in New York City. The panel consisted largely of immigrants from the Caribbean--with Africanized headgear--who turned down their applications. It was likely Canada's "gain", but can't possibly know if they ever reached their dream destination. __________ As a biologist by inclination and education--and having serially-owned eight Dachshunds I agree with you. I trained my dogs to stop barking. They'd be sunning behind a screen door when people would pass by. Of course, all three would suddenly start barking loudly. I'd launch a magazine in the air behind the three of them. Before it hit the floor, I'd yell, "QUIET!". Startled, they'd instantly stop barking. That is, except for one male who continued to gaze intently at the intruders, and would utter, "Mumpht". (Getting the last "word"). ;)________________. I bought four used Dunlop "Green Spots"--a racing tire from F1 champion Jochen Rindt. The occasion was Bahama Speed Weeks, where "Formula Vee" was featured. They were the racers' choice for rainy competition, and I put them on my 1960 Karmann-Ghia. I also added Rindt's engine, which was remarkable for its power, although few modifications were allowed. _ _________ they've hired part-time realtors! The difficulty lies in the inability or reluctance to fire the layabouts. I'm told by Sgt x that my laboratory has been taken over by "DEI-hires". Where we once had six examiners (up from three in 1984) they have four supervisors over them. He's told me they've played loud popular Cuban music, and all have gotten up and danced to it! It's Party-Time on Taxpayer's Dime... Last time I called, the main supervisor couldn't be reached, and I was handed around until someone (now retired) knew what was going on and it wasn't pretty. Plans are to build an ever-newer building to house all the new-hires and the regular examiners--who have disappeared from the peer review of firearm-related articles. They're not even responding at the "official" forum website. The Lab has gone to bleep... I'm still getting subpoenas to Miami-Dade courtrooms, as the present examiners can't produce results in court testimony. Sad, and this is just my ONE experience... All this in the 24 years I've been retired. Very disturbing, not to mention disappointing. _____________ I'm reminded that entertainer Justin Bieber raced his Ferrari through the same streets and was arrested for his OUI impairment(s)--not to mention his loud-mouth behavior to Anglo/city LEOs. _____________ ______________"We must support Gain of Function research, even at the risk of pandemic..." --Dr. Anthony Fauci in a 2014 email to colleague Peter Daszak. _______ "I have nothing good to say about Ukraine" . . When Ukraine made headlines, I checked videos of the country. In most cases, the videos mirrored life in the USA circa 1965. Other videos showed immense recent parades with the military prominent: Navy, Marines, Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, among others. It was as though the entire country had turned out and lasted hours longer than I had the patience for. While displayed with Soviet-era affect, the videos left a strong impression of their pride in Ukraine history and sovereignty. That they resisted overt Russian aggression came as no surprise to me. ______
