I am a veteran of the United States Marine Corps who served from 1989-1993 in Security Forces at Pearl Harbor, then with Lima 3/3. I am a member of Marine Corps League Capital Detachment 148 where we’re organizing a Young Marines unit.
I’m 37 years old, married with two children and work as a research technician at a major Big Ten university.
The last time I stood alongside Freepers was at the counter demonstration in Washington DC on March 17, 2007 where we discovered most of the anti war (READ: anti-military/anti-conservative) types were fair weather warriors. That day is still crisp in my mind and I feel it was probably the turning point in suppressing the growing anti-everything sentiment. Word got around and their turnouts dwindled. Thank you all for standing together.
I’ve followed this site through the election and find myself something of a kindred spirit with many of you. I’m disgusted, jaded, and living in occupied territory. Until they take words away, I’ll stand with you to protect free speech, the Constitution and the Republic. I swore an oath in 1989 to do just that.
Semper Fi,
Chris
