I'm a former radical leftist/antiwar activist/pro-abortion feminist from the DC area. In 1972, I left with my daughter Samantha Sunshine for San Francisco to explore the more recreational side of the counterculture. After eight years or so of living in the city. I moved to Marin County, probably the most anti-American place on the planet. I was right at home then.

In 2002, Samantha and I returned home to northern Virginia with 22 native Californians in tow -- my husband, 11 other children, 2 sons-in-law, and 8 grandchildren. In the first three months, I sang the national anthem and pledged allegiance more than I had in 30 years in California. What a wonderful country we live in -- where people who've made mistakes can start over.

I redeem my time by writing -- lots -- have been published in the Washington Times, World magazine, Focus on the Family, the Plain Truth, Christian Science Monitor, Winchester Star.

Am working on my fourth book, a personal/political saga.
