I'd rather vote for a Conservative and lose than vote for a Liberal and win. It's the only way I could look at myself in the mirror, or face my baby daughter knowing I did my best. Otherwise, I may as well become a liar, cheater, or thief, since in that case I cannot even hold myself to my own principles. Some would say we need to compromise our beliefs to "win", but all that does is force us to become what we are not. If our beliefs are the truth, then the truth will set us free. If we are wrong, then we should change openly and honestly, and embrace what we have rejected until now. Are conservative principles wrong? Are they worth rejecting to win an election here and there? What becomes of our truths after decades of abandonment? Maybe only once in a lifetime does the truth prevail, but those times are worth the fight. America is worth it.
