I have a $1000 Confederate Bearer Bond hanging in my living room. It was found in a suitcase that was given to me...the keeper of the family records. As I unfolded the blood stained bearer bond with the CSA seal in the upper left hand corner, I realized that as imperfect as our country is, someone at one time deeply believed in what that bearer bond stood for.

Today, we have to perserve that ideal. We need to pay attention to the difference between democracy and republic. We need to understand who our founders were and how blessed we are that they wrote the constitution for this country. We need to perserve the ideals of freedom, liberty, and the persuit of happiness.

Give me the ability to continue to seek my happiness. I believe it is important to “give Ceasar his due,” but I also know I want to keep the government out of my affairs and out of my pocket.
