They're studying Facebook posts. They're using frame-by-frame video screenshots of faces to match with gargantuan databases of named faces. They're seeking and taking tips from "friends" and relatives and ex-boyfriends.
For the UCLA Jewish students who got into a scrap with pro-Hamas illegal campout protestors, no doubt after hearing a slew of antisemitic statements and being blocked from attending class, they're doing exactly what they did to identify and hunt down January 6 protestors.
According to the Los Angeles Times, which reports this like it was a good thing:
It is shaping up to be perhaps the biggest case in the history of the UCLA Police Department: how to identify dozens of people who attacked a pro-Palestinian camp at the center of campus last week.
The mob violence was captured on live television, but it took three hours for police to bring it to an end. Those involved left, and no arrests were made.
But the trail is not cold.
UCLA detectives are now scanning hundreds of images in an attempt to identify the attackers. They intend to use technology that captures facial images and compares them to other photos on the internet and social media to put names to faces, according to law enforcement sources.
The same technology has allowed police to identify suspects in smash-and-grab retail burglaries. It also was the heart of the Jan. 6 investigation, in which videos of those storming the U.S. Capitol helped the FBI identify many of the assailants and led federal prosecutors to charge more than 1,300 people. In those cases, investigators often were able to find social media images of the assailant wearing the same clothing as during the attack.

In the UK in the 1930s, the British Union of Fascists was trying to gain political power. British communists would show up at rallies and start fights with the British Fascists. The police then made it a practice of shutting down rallies by the British Fascists because “they were violent”.
I’m not in any way defending fascists (British or otherwise) but those “violent rallies” from the 1930s were basically fascists defending themselves when they were attacked by communists. The fascists got punished by the government and the communists won the day.
Now today, the Jews are punished by the government for defending themselves against terrorists.

I watched almost the entire video of that. The pro-Israel protesters were the ones who initiated the violence. They started throwing around the barriers, fired commercial level fireworks into the encampment along with noxious chemicals, and sprayed bear spray into the faces of the other protesters. They also had 5 of them beating up a student on the ground. So they deserved to be arrested. You can protest all you want but you cross the line when you initiate violence.
And I bet the Jews will continue to vote for Democrats this fall….almost 100%!!
The government was letting the pro-Palestinians continue their protests, but since the counterprotests, they finally went in to stop them.
What's happening seems more like what happened with the BLM and Antifa riots. The government let them continue, then conservatives showed up to counterprotest, were beat up, and then the government came in and arrested the conservatives.
It's not about who started the protest or who the counterprotesters were. It's more about which side is favored by the government.
Yes but you also cross the line when you’re disrupting the lives of others. Do it on the capital steps like everyone else does!
The hope is that the true lefties will vote for Jill Stein, Cornel West, or RFK.
