it was obvious that this type of crime was going to proliferate. The ultimate solution will be you have to carry your own cable that runs from your car to a plug-in on the charger.

We were parked behind a long line of Tesla chargers at a restaurant in Central California - on our way to the Bay Area.
The nozzle on every single charger had been destroyed.

RVs have had the plug-in concept down for decades without all these issues. EV chargers are overly complicated. The charging "brain" and the cord should be in the EV.

Very stupid design, the cord should be with the vehicle.
Then you have an outlet at the charger. It could still be vandalized but rubber jacketed copper wire is a crooks dream.
