Report: Gallant’s plan for post-war Gaza includes arming local Palestinians

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant’s plan for the “day after” in Gaza includes providing weapons to local figures tied to the Palestinian Authority with international oversight, according to a report in Israel Hayom.

In an explosive speech on Wednesday, Gallant stated that he will not consent to Israeli civil or military governance of Gaza, and that governance by non-Hamas Palestinian entities, accompanied by international actors, is in Israel’s interest.

The newspaper report claims that Gallant’s plan, backed by the defense establishment, is to provide such groups with guns, which will be electronically monitored by Israel to prevent them being used by Hamas, and will be part of an overall international effort to help govern the Strip led by Arab nations and backed by the US.

Isreal’s “Defense” Minister refuses to actually defend Isreal.

even worse is that he is advocating for sending arms to the enemy- He should be removed from office immediately and put on a terror watch list-

Gallant needs to be fired for insubordination and dereliction of duty.

That is a great question. It has been discussed many times. I have friends on both borders that need to be armed at all times, but it has been extremely difficult to get a permit. I have been told that during this war it has loosed up, but i have not seen it yet. Israel is divided along the same lines as the US.

He can’t be fired per se. He is the leader of one of the parties in the governing coalition. He wants to be the next PM and is setting the stage. He’s been a hawk on Gaza supporting Netanyahu but has been angling for the top job for months waiting for this war to come to an end and the blame to fall on Netanyahu. He defied Netanyahu and came to meet top US political and security officials. After he left, US Senator Schumer called for Netanyahu to resign. No coincidence.

What he raises are legitimate Israeli domestic concerns. Do they want to occupy Gaza for years? If not then what, and who, and what powers will be delegated to whom? Will foreign troops go in, can all sides trust them? And of course who should lead Israel in the aftermath and will that person have a plan acceptable to the public.

Israel will probably demand security control of all the borders, especially the border with Egypt where nearly all the smuggling comes in.

Israel wants Bibi to do the dirty job in Gaza. Once it's over, then they'll get rid of him

The situation in Israel very dicey right now Biden and “Deep State” have a plan that Netanyahu and others in Israeli politics aren’t in agreement with.

What’s next the Iranian president’s chopper is down already answered that.

Bibi will be gone soon. But if Biden’s handlers decide to interfere, Bibi will be in power for another year. Israel wants Bibi gone. But on their terms.

What a doofus. In WWII, he would have been a concentration camp Kapo, or a Jewish Ghetto Police Chief who accommodated the Nazis in rounding up Jews in the Ghetto to send them to “work camps.”
