There never was a “III-Percent Militia”. The III Percent concept was created by Mike Vanderboegh as a way of thinking about history and the philosophy of resistance to tyranny, and propagated by his blog Sipsey Street Irregulars.

Mike's own thumbnail of the III Percent catechism went like this:

"These four principles -- moral strength, physical readiness, no first use of force and no targeting of innocents -- are the hallmarks of the Three Percent ideal. Anyone who cannot accept them as a self-imposed discipline in the fight to restore the Founders' Republic should find something else to do and cease calling themselves a "Three Percenter."

When Mike died, I sent his widow a $20 bill. He was a spunky old guy.

His partner David is writing for gun magazines. Somewhere up in the Midwest, if I remember correctly.

I miss MV's writings. A true, unashamed patriot. Sad he left us as he did. I think of him each time I see the "Despised by the Despicable" patch I wear on my shooting vest.
