I am a servant of the Living God, Most High God, Commander of the Hosts, Creator and Ruler of the universe, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Who restored Job after the devil took everything he was allowed. Who destroyed the world with a flood, save eight souls. Because the angels who had left their first estate, tried to ruin God’s plan for salvation. Who was Abraham’s friend. Who destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah with fire and brimstone. Who wrestled with Jacob, and gave Jacob a dream of a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God ascending and descending on it. Who gave dreams to Joseph and saved a multitude from starvation. Who let Moses see Him as He walked away. Who blessed Joshua and gave him victory over many enemies. Who was with David when he slayed Goliath, a man after God’s own Heart. Who gave Solomon wisdom and allowed him to build the first Temple. Who used the Persians to punish Israel, the captivity. Who was in the fiery furnace with Daniel’s friends and gave Daniel visions of the end times, sealed in a scroll with seven seals. He filled John the Baptist with the Holy Spirit (before birth) and commissioned him to be the voice crying in the wilderness preparing the way for the Lamb of God. Before Abraham was, I Am. Jesus Christ, the Messiah, Prince of Peace, God Incarnate, proclaiming the year of the Lord’s favor, (and the day of vengeance of our God, TBD). I and the Father are One. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities, the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds, we are healed. It is finished. Who spent three days in hell and took the keys of hell and death from the devil. Who brought Paradise into Heaven and One Day will return to restore all things.

I tried to prove God’s existence in college with the usual, ontological, cosmological, teleological, apologetics. I found that the teleological argument is gaining strength via Intelligent Design. My prima facie argument: there are too many cosmic coincidences that allowed life to proliferate on Earth, beginning with the abundance of carbon and water in the universe (triple alpha process), the inherent property of water to be most transparent to light in the blue-green part of the visible spectrum, location of the sun (a class G2 star) w.r.t Earth, the size and location of our moon and the origin of the first self-replicating RNA molecule, these examples represent too many apparent fine-tunings so that the probability of life emerging through spontaneous processes or via self-organization are so low as to be mathematically impossible. After a thorough examination of the evidence I came to the conclusion that God’s existence cannot be proved rationally. My paper ended with a faith-based approach, faith is the evidence of things not seen, the substance of things hoped for. Heb. 11:1 I turned my paper in thinking that it would not be received well. I was surprised when it came back with an A- and a note to read Kierkegaard. I read Søren Kierkegaard’s “God’s Existence Cannot Be Proved.” He concluded that God’s existence cannot be proved using logic, rational thought or empiricism. “The paradoxical passion (suffering) of the Reason comes repeatedly into collision with the Unknown, which does indeed exist, but is unknown, and insofar does not exist. But when I let the proof go the existence is there … this little moment, brief as it may be - it need not be long, for it is a leap.”
