I’ve actually been lurking on this site since 2002. I was thirteen years old back then! Found the link on DU, started reading this site, and thought to myself, “Well, dayum. This site makes a lot more sense than the site I just came from. The people here don’t seem to be so angry all the time, either.” Afterwards, I went to a conservative friend with an open mind, asked his opinion on certain things, liked it so much, and I’ve been a conservative ever since.

Of course, during the 2008 primaries, I just HAD to lurk at DU again (face it: the repub primaries were completely boring) and was disgusted by the way the Obama supporters twisted everything and completely drove the now PUMAs out of the site. I believe that there was even a Hillary Clinton supporter hit list circulating. Once the PUMAs started up their own site, I went over there to tell them they were brave. I offered to join them, but I got kicked out for being too conservative. (wasn’t the first time. I also got kicked out of Broadwayworld for actually supporting the war in Iraq.).

I was too afraid to join FreeRepublic so I joined a PUMA site that allowed republicans. There, I saw democrats of many stripes, all disillusioned by their party, joining up to fight Obama. I watched their gradual transformation from hard core leftists to social conservatives. They went crazy over Palin. They adored her and even said they would support her if she would run for office. Because of this, I am convinced that we need to spread our message everywhere, not just to conservative stations, but to liberal ones as well. You never know who may be watching. I mean, when Jesus was preaching to the masses, he didn’t preach to people who agreed with him, rather, he preached to people who disagreed with him in order to win converts. Preaching to the crowd does squat.

Of course, I was put on post moderation one too many times and got sick of it, so I finally joined FR.

Lemme tell you something. After all my years of lurking on DU and FR, I learned three things.

THING ONE: If the mantra of the party is “anyone but the enemy” (example: in 2004 for the Dems, it was “anyone but Bush;”), that party will be defeated come election day. We need candidates that excite the base.

THING TWO: Campaign in as many states in as many different mediums as possible. This is why the Dems lost 2004. They only campaigned in blue states. I could argue the same about McCain in 2008. When Howard Dean became DNC chairman, he initiated a fifty state stragety. THAT is why the Dems won so many seats in 2006.

THING THREE: This may sound crazy, but READ BOOKS THAT WERE WRITTEN BY YOUR IDEOLOGICAL OPPONENTS. Of course, you want to get your straight news from good books such as Obama Nation and anything Glenn Beck, however, sometimes it pays to read a book written by an Obama supporter.

Case in point: Ever wanted to know WHY Obama is for killing babies? I was talking to an Obama supporter and she said that she owned this handy book entitled “The Legendary Barack Obama” (she had no idea I was against him). According to this book, Michelle Obama had an abortion long before Obama met her. Why don’t I see Fox covering it? Doesn’t it make the left hypocritical for attacking Bristol Palin when Michelle did essentially the same thing, only she decided to murder her kid while Bristol will keep hers? Doesn’t it?! The thing that really sucks, though, is that I can’t find that book for sale ANYWHERE. Maybe it was censored? If anyone has more information about this book, please PM me.
