My 10th anniversary is April 2, 1998. Happy anniversary to me!
I joined FreeRepublic on April 2,1998 and happily Freeped for 2 years as Dannybob. After a couple of years of Freeping I reformatted the hard drive on my home pc and when I tried to open Free Republic I had to enter my user name and password to log in. Guess what? I had no idea what my password ever was so I had no choice but to re-register as pgkdan...I was sick of 'Dannybob' any way.
So who is pgkdan? I'm a 50 year old fat guy happily married for 23 years to a beautiful southern belle. I'm Catholic, conservative and a proud patriotic American.
The pgk part of my screen name comes from the Knights of Columbus. I'm Past Grand Knight of St. Benedict's Council 9056 in Virginia Beach, VA. I used pgkdan in my very first email address and it stuck.
I can be a little pugnacious at times but usually feel bad about it later. I guess you might call me a hot head when my buttons are pushed. Don't attack my Church, My country or my Party and we'll get along fine!
I'm also a happy cancer survivor. I have had my left kidney removed due to Renal Cell Carcinoma but am currently stable and happy to be so!
Ok, so now you know who I am. I'm pleased to make your aquaintance and hope to be Freeping for a long, long time!
These 'Freepers' bear watching. They were very quick to trash our ally Georgia and defend our enemy, Russia, during the Russian invasion of Georgia in July 2008.
Even to the point of lying and distorting the about the facts as they were occuring. I wonder about anyone who propogandizes for the Russians!
