ObsceneProphets has been founded to promote the financial ideals of Jeffersonian democracy and the preservation of wealth through selective investment in gold, silver and their shares. Dr. Cook began aggressively investing in precious metals and their shares in 1998 with the goal of establishing a personal discipline to determining relative share performance based upon his intuitive understanding of pattern recognition systems. The process has worked well, and this “meatbot” process has built a nice personal portfolio that has met his personal goals. ObsceneProphets has been founded to share these perspectives, this process, and specific recommendations with an expanding readership.

Rodney C Cook, Ph.D, is a serial entrepreneur with twenty years experience, having started several successful high technology companies. His doctoral dissertation was in the field of Biometrics, specifically statistical pattern recognition applied to fisheries science at the University of Washington. Dr. Cook began his career as a biometrician for the International Pacific Salmon Commission, and then moved to BioSonics where he developed the Optical Pattern Recognition System for identifying races of a Pacific Salmon from growth patterns on their scales. He then founded Optimas, Inc. a leading software developer of scientific image processing products that was sold to FLIR. Following Optimas, he co-founded xSides (formerly Ark Interface), a developer of innovative desktop computer interfaces. In 1994, he managed the acquisition of xSides by Packard Bell, where he continued to serve as Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer. Dr. Cook then founded Sightward in early 1999 to apply advanced pattern recognition technology to the accurate targeting of e-marketing campaigns and personalization of e-commerce content.
