I have suggested in my columns the presence of socialist-communist attitudes and practices in our daily lives. Such a statement ought to be supported by examples. The reason native-born Americans would not recognize them, while people of my ilk do, is that growing up in Hungary we had no choice in the matter. At school, we were required year after year to be trained in Marxism-Leninism. It was considered everyone's major, taking precedence over one's real major

Sensitivity Training is the precise equivalent of engaging in public self-criticism and submitting to party education, the standard communist punishment meted out to those who had strayed outside the party line.

Good thinking here. As I speak ,spouse has on Canadian telivision (CTV). Pam Wallin, one of Canada's better interviewers, is hosting one Walter Cronkite. I hate to listen, but I must so that I can get the gist of it.

Cronkite- "I am a world federalist"- a direct quote. He brought up the bogey of "isolationism" as well. He drones on and on, the old Marxist Socialist dogma. Primarily, and I choose my words very carefully, what Sage Walter is saying ,is for an utter and complete United States committment worldwide. It seems that he views HIS country as a gigantic grab bag for all.

He continues on, vis, "we are not civilised at all", he decries the arming of his country and talks of killing and committing mayhem, and it is wrong. If his doctrines were adopted, where would old Joe Stalin have fitted in? Anyone who, like the author, knows of the spectre of enforced communism can give the answer. Well, happy new year to all. I am contributing to the economy of the delightful area of the Upper Penininsula of Michigan today. I am going to drive over there and..... enjoy(with liberal spouse.
