Organization Stays Quiet About Founder (Planned Parenthood)
Purdue Exponent Online ^ | 11/28/01 | Marc Gretencord

Recently VOX (voices for Planned Parenthood) and ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) co-sponsored a forum on reproductive rights called: "Your Reproductive Rights: Going, Going, Gone?" It was held Mon, Nov. 12 in the Black Cultural Center. Does anyone know the history of Planned Parenthood? Margaret Sanger's (founder of Planned Parenthood) vision of birth control was really an attempt to limit the elements of the population she considered undesirable. Racial minorities and others she labeled as "feeble-minded." Sanger's depopulation targets included Semites, Latins, Hispanics and Blacks. Ironic that this forum was held in the Black Cultural Center. Sanger's bitter hatred of Christianity was well known and her opposition to charity and missionary efforts merely reflected that fact. Do the research. Planned Parenthood does everything possible to hide the truth about their founder. You can't find the information on Planned Parenthood's website. In her best-selling 1922 book, "The Pivot of Civilization," she called for the elimination of "human weeds" and for the segregation of "morons, misfits and the maladjusted," and for the sterilization of the"genetically inferior races" (from page 101 of "The Pivot of Civilization"). Hitler had similar ideas for the "genetically inferior races." Planned Parenthood is of course aware of this fact. They, however, try to downplay Sanger's extremist view with nifty semantics and name-calling. They of course label anyone who is pro-life as an extremist who would want to subject everyone to their morality. But at least we can take refuge in the fact that our morality of protecting babies’ lives isn't as evil as destroying the population that isn't the right color. Planned Parenthood today considers Sanger a hero for "women's rights." Recently they gave away "American Flag" condoms in honor of 9/11. I can't imagine any more disgusting way to disrespect the American flag.

This is an editorial I thought I'd share here. Very informative and revealing in my opinion. (Paragraph structure as in original)

And here is a quote from one of her early "Negro Project" directors:

"I wonder if Southern Darkies can ever be entrusted with ... a clinic. Our experience causes us to doubt their ability to work except under white supervision."

Back in the 1970's I was amused to find that a dorm at the University of Oklahoma populated primarily by blacks was "Sanger House".

Eugenics was a favorite hobby with the American ruling class right up till WWII made it no longer respectable to advocate such things openly. Teddy Roosevelt was mad for it.

The New Civilization is saying to the Old now: ``We cannot go on making power for you to spend upon international conflict. You must stop waving flags and bandying insults. You must organize the Peace of the World; you must subdue yourselves to the Federation of all mankind. And we cannot go on giving you health, freedom, enlargement, limitless wealth, if all our gifts to you are to be swamped by an indiscriminate torrent of progeny. We want fewer and better children who can be reared up to their full possibilities in unencumbered homes, and we cannot make the social life and the world-peace we are determined to make, with the ill-bred, ill-trained swarms of inferior citizens that you inflict upon us.''

-HG Wells, in the introduction to Sanger's The Pivot of Civilization

This book is long gone in hard copy. There is a website that has this book re-printed in its original format, word for word. Does anyone have a web address?

Perhaps we can help remind them and those deceived by them of the founder who they have forgotten by always referring to Planned Parenthood as Margaret Sanger's Banned Parenthood.

Thanks for posting all of this. When I opened up the thread, I was gearing up to have to set the record straight on some of the Sanger myths. I'm pleased that someone beat me to it.

I don't really give a g*ddam what motivated Sanger or anyone else who supported, or now supports, the butchering of a human. Anti-choice? Slow day over at the democratic underground or what? Women DO have a choice. Women can choose to keep their knees together until they are responsible enough to bring a life into this world. That is the choice. Have sex and get pregnant or abstain and don't. That's got to be about the simplest choice I have ever heard. What the baby butchers want is not freedom of choice...it is freedom from responsibility.

In 1916, Madison Grant, a wealthy New York lawyer and Yale graduate (1887), and an ardent amateur naturalist popularized eugenics via his best-seller, The Passing of the Great Race:

"A rigid system of selection through the elimination of those who are weak or unfit -- in other words social failures -- would allow solve the whole question in one hundred years, as well as enable us to get rid of the undesirables who crowd our jails, hospitals, and insane asylums. The individual himself can be nourished, educated and protected by the community during his lifetime, but the state through sterilization must see to it that his line stops with him, or else future generations will be cursed with an ever increasing load of misguided sentimentalism. This is a practical, merciful, and inevitable solution of the whole problem, and can be applied to an ever widening circle of social discards, beginning always with the criminal, the diseased, and the insane, and extending gradually to types which may be called weaklings rather than defectives, and perhaps ultimately to worthless race types."

Of this "scientific" and unsentimental book, Grant's friend, former president Theodore Roosevelt, wrote: "The book is a capital book: in purpose, in vision, in grasp of the facts that our people must need to realize.... It is the work of an American scholar and gentleman, and all Americans should be grateful to you for writing it." The Passing of the Great Race was translated into German in 1925, and Grant received a fan letter from aspiring politician Adolf Hitler as well: "The book is my Bible," wrote Hitler to Grant.

Nazi Background of Planned Parenthood

"Even if we accept organized charity at its own valuation, and grant it does the best it can, it is exposed to a more profound criticism. It reveals a fundamental and irremedial defect. Its very success, its very efficiency, its very necessity to the social order are the most unanswerable indictment. Organized charity is the symptom of a malignant social disease. Those vast, complex, interrelated organizations aiming to control and to diminish the spread of misery and destitution and all the menacing evils that spring out of this sinisterly fertile soil, are the surest sign that our civilization has bred, is breeding, and is perpetuating constantly increasing numbers of defective, delinquents, and dependents. My criticism, therefore, is not directed at the failure of philanthropy, but rather at its success. These dangers are inherent in the very idea of humanitarianism and altruism, dangers which have toda produced their full harvest of human waste." [The Pivot of Civilization by Margaret Sanger, pg. 108]

"The most serious charge that can be brought against modern benevolence is that it encourages the perpetuation of defective, delinquents, and dependents. These are the most dangerous elements in the world community, the most devastating curse on human progress and expression. Philanthropy is a gesture characteristic of modern business lavishing upon the unfit the profits extorted from the community at large. Looked at impartially, this compensatory generosity is in its final effect probably more dangerous, more dysgenic, more blighting than the initial practice of profiteering." [The Pivot of Civilization by Margaret Sanger, pg. 123]

"The government of the United States deliberately encourages and even makes necessary by its laws the breeding — with a breakneck rapidity — of idiots, defective, diseased, feeble-minded, and criminal classes. Billions of dollars are expended by our state and federal governments and by private charities and philanthropies for the care, the maintenance, and the perpetuation of these classes. Year by year their numbers are mounting. Year by year more money is expended . . . to maintain an increasing race of morons which threatens the very foundations of our civilization." [International Aspects of Birth Control: The International Neo-Malthusian and Birth Control Conference by Margaret Sanger, page v.]

"We can all vote, even the mentally arrested. And so it is no surprise to find that the moron's vote is as good as the vote of the genius. The outlook is not a cheerful one." [International Aspects of Birth Control: The International Neo-Malthusian and Birth Control Conference by Margaret Sanger, page 5]

"The dullard, the gawk, the numbskull, the simpleton, the weakling, and the scatterbrain are amongst us in overshadowing numbers— intermarrying, breeding, inordinately prolific, literally threatening to overwhelm the world with their useless and terrifying get." [International Aspects of Birth Control: The International Neo-Malthusian and Birth Control Conference by Margaret Sanger, page 146]
