Junkie Girl
In the good old bad part of this college town
Men in business suits they chase you down
You take their money just like you take mine
You send it bubbling down the thin blue line
It doesn't matter how it got this way
'Cause we could make it through this thing together
I know you're laughing but I got to say
Now I still want you maybe more than ever
No fooling it's a f***** up world
So be cool my little junkie girl
The cops are out to shut the district down
I comb the ruins of your stomping grounds
Stanyan Street looking like that third world war
You come up blazing like an open sore
Now I believe you but I got to know
How come the right side of your brain is hurting
So take me with you when you go
Through to the white side of your China curtain
No fooling it's a f***** up world
So be cool my little junkie girl
In the good old bad part of this college town
Men in grey limousines will drive you down
You take their money just like you take mine
Where does it get you on that thin blue line
Now I can hardly hear you any more
Your eyes are empty and your voice is hollow
I see you waving from a distant shore
And where you're going I don't dare to follow
No fooling that's another world
Good luck my little junkie girl
Red Nation still loves America. Red Nation can't help but love America because we see in her the beauty and charm and glorious life that were in her when she was young. But we recognize that the habits and addictions and choices that Blue Nation has made and continue to make have created this wreck which we have around us today. We can't help but still love it, but we can't help but be terrified of where it's choices are taking it, and us because of our love.
As a parable, I think this works both literally and figuratively because drugs per se are so important to the breakdown of our culture from within and without, and because the characteristics of drug culture -- licentiousness, self-gratification, desperation, death -- have become pervasive through Blue Nation America even if drug use as a habit isn't directly present.
But, just as importantly, Blue Nation America has opened up the America we all love to the global equivalent of "Men in business" and "Men in grey limousines."
Just as any number of vultures feed off drug users and the culture they create, Blue Nation America has brought onto America vultures, both domestically, those scummy politicians and activists who can exploit the wreckage of Blue Nation; and foreign, people who see all of America as Blue Nation and either want to exploit it themselves or to destroy it before it wrecks them, too.
Red Nation America looks at America and resonds with the love we've always felt for America. But we recognize that America isn't what it once was. And we're terrified at the thought of where Blue Nation America is taking America, and us...

The myth that drug use only hurts the user is a bigger fiction than "Mody Dick."
Drug use destroys individuals. Drug use destroys families. Drug use destroys communities. Drug use destroys nations.
Drug users and the culture they create (and the consequences of that culture) have done and continue to do more damage to America than the WTC/911 terrorists could ever dream of.
Drug users are often victims. (They're not victims in the same sense as the WTC victims, because drug users make a choice -- but when it's a choice based on lies and seduction and exploitation, then they've been victimized too.) Victims need to be helped.
But promoters are a different story. This is what you are promoting. People who promote drug use and legalization are terrorists. They should be treated as such.

(Anybody think I should ping anyone special on this thread?)
Mark W.
Come on over here and say that to my face. Have your dukes up when you do.
Only a complete loser calls other people terrorists for questioning the wisdom of a bit of public policy. This is America, loser. Free speech and so forth. Chew on that.

As for your point, I will address it shortly...MUD
Yes there are a substantial number of folks who cannot control their drug use. They are a small minority of the TOTAL number of folks who choose to use drugs recreationally (make sure you do not overlook alcohol in this category) in moderation, have rich and productive lives, and do not become a burdon on society.
You use the canard of the minority to cast sweeping assertions on the majority.
It doesn't fly MarkWar - happy landings though.
I didn't call people who question the wisdom of public policy terrorists. I called people who promote drug use terrorists.
Glad I could clear that up for you.
Mark W.
Well, you may think this is a stupid thread, but I found your reply to be interesting.
Drug promoters put up the same rancid drivel every day -- sometimes multiple times a day -- and they all ping dozens of their fellow travelers to come over and slap each other on the back and call the decent people names, and that's cool with you.
But I put up a post explaining how the drug dynamic destroys society (and, indeed, perpetuates the balkanization of domestic and global society) -- and make the point by sharing an emotional, well written song -- and you this is stupid.
LOL! Good one, Tex. (That glow -- and oo-ooo that smell -- outside your window: That's Blue Nation America rotting away...)
Mark W.
LOL! You've got to get out more! Take a look around. Compare what you see of America today to what your grandparents tell you it was like.
Drug culture -- and, as I phrased it in my post "...because the characteristics of drug culture -- licentiousness, self-gratification, desperation, death -- have become pervasive through Blue Nation America even if drug use as a habit isn't directly present..." -- has played a big role in creating Blue Nation America. Blue Nation America, like the junkie girl of the song, is not only killing herself, but dragging Red Nation down by its love...
This thread is about much more than the so-called War on Drugs.
Mark W.
The WTC/911 terrorists killed thousands of people in New York City. Blue Nation America -- built in large part from drug use and the philosophies associated with drug use -- has, both mentally and physically, raped, tortured and killed millions all across the country for at least two generations now. And, as the American companies and activists and politicians who've profited from the wreckage here have become global, they've exported their hell to the "elites" of other countries and, using corporate media, identified Blue Nation America as "Western" civilization.
As I observed, one of the reasons the so called "Islamic Revolution hates America -- really, is terrified of America -- is they see the global corporations and activists and politicians -- the same scum who profit in various ways from Blue Nation America -- exporting Blue Nation America around the globe. This is really the goal of the globalists: BLUE NATION WORLD
One of the reasons the Islamic Revolution is staging these terrorist attacks is that they are desperate to do anything they can to stop the characteristics of Blue Nation America -- licentiousness, self-gratification, desperation, death -- from being exported to their cultures.
There is obscenity here. But it's not my comparison. Mark W.

I advocate legalization. Therefore, by your own words, I should be treated as a terrorist -- that is to say, I should be killed on sight. Some American you are.
