Here's a letter I sent to the Austin Statesman since Robert Jensen's email box at the University of Texas was full.

Unfortunately, as many generations of Americans have found in times past ... there comes a time when we are forced to shed blood (our own and our enemies) in order to preserve liberty. The alternative in those instances becomes worse than not doing so, as the Jews of World War II found.

This horror has been thrust upon us. We will not retain our liberty be being passive in the face of it.

I would to God that we did not have people in the world who force such horrific circumstances upon us. But we do, and the alternative to not responding decisively is even more horrific to contemplate.

Having said all of that, . I read your bio and found that you are an active member of the IWW, Industrial Workers of the World. I am familiar with them, here is the preamble to the Constitution of that Organization:

"The working class and the employing class have nothing in common. There can be no peace so long as hunger and want are found among millions of the working people and the few, who make up the employing class, have all the good things of life.

Between these two classes a struggle must go on until the workers of the world organize as a class, take possession of the means of production, abolish the wage system, and live in harmony with the Earth.

We find that the centering of the management of industries into fewer and fewer hands makes the trade unions unable to cope with the ever-growing power of the employing class. The trade unions foster a state of affairs which allows one set of workers to be pitted against another set of workers in the same industry, thereby helping defeat one another in wage wars. Moreover, the trade unions aid the employing class to mislead the workers into the belief that the working class have interests in common with their employers.

These conditions can be changed and the interest of the working class upheld only by an organization formed in such a way that all its members in any one industry, or in all industries if necessary, cease work whenever a strike or lockout is on in any department thereof, thus making an injury to one an injury to all.

Instead of the conservative motto, "A fair day's wage for a fair day's work," we must inscribe on our banner the revolutionary watchword, "Abolition of the wage system."

It is the historic mission of the working class to do away with capitalism. The army of production must be organized, not only for everyday struggle with capitalists, but also to carry on production when capitalism shall have been overthrown. By organizing industrially we are forming the structure of the new society within the shell of the old."

Robert, you belong to is a Marxist organization that is an enemy of everything this nation has been founded upon.

I have alternated between employee and employer all of my adult life. This nation provides the best opportunity for ANYONE to rise above themselves and become successful emotionally, financially, morally and spiritually. The record of the last 200+ years, despite our weaknesses and failings is ample proof of this.

The history of your Marxist attempts at the same are ample proof of its bankruptcy and its slant towards totalitarianism which has resulted in the deaths of tens of millions.

I know, I know ... no one has been able to implement it just right. I bet you and yours are just aching for the attempt to try ... to be the "inspired", "special" ones that have the true "vision" that you would ultimately cram down the rest of our throats at the point of a gun.

Well, you shall fail, because the people here will fight, and fight violently to retain the liberty we have to achieve.

Such ideologies, such views, such intent to action as proposed by this group I view as my mortal enemy. Look for their to be tens of millions like me who are prepared, armed and ready to fight you and your ilk to the death.

If this sounds emotional and like a tirade ... you're damn straight it is. I have had relatives bleed their lives blood fighting your ideology in other parts of the world. I am prepared and willing to do so here.

If you know your history, remember the term "useful idiot". That is what you are for those who would destroy the liberties of this nation. Remember also what happened to those "useful idiots" once the communists came to power. You have placed yourself in a most unfortunate position. Many of your fellow Americans will fight you tooth and nail, and those you believe support you will do away with you if you are ever so unfortunate to defeat the rest of us.
