Has Bush Lost His Marbles with Executive Privilege?

Rush Limbaugh said, "Everone's shaking his head over this." Bush is using executive privilege to cover Clinton's sorry tail.
It's beyond spineless. And it raises alarming questions about Bush. Is he in on it? Was Judicial Watch right to go after this clown all along? Is he somehow involved in the Clinton scandals? Is the Bush-bashing crowd that talks about Mena right? Are we talking about another sleazy administration that is somehow in league with the Clintons? Or does Bush have mental problems? I see no other answer.

Please support Dan Burton. And please let Bush know your theories on why he is offering criminal aide to a traitor that makes Benedict Arnold look like a saint.

I'm sorry Arthur, but when the Republicans get done breakfast, flames you will get. Burton will be called an idiot, Ashcroft will be a saint, and Bush....well darnit if they all don't look the same to me.

Did you ever stop to think that if Justice is building a case that they might not want their info in the public domain just yet? Regardless of what is being said of the matter for public consumption at the present, I believe that all the lose ends are being tied up neatly and will be presented to the public at just the right time prior to the 2002 elections. Remember what Walsh did to tar Bush 41? As they say, payback is a b*tch.

You know, I don't care if some idiot flames me. I don't care if a dozen idiots flame me. Bush is aiding a nuclear traitor. I'm behind Burton for justice. And even Rush Limbaugh is alarmed by this. So frankly my dear...

Executive privilege is inexcusable in this case. National security is not involved. The only possible reason for trying to claim it in this case is to extend presidential powers further or cover up some dirty laundry in Bush 1. Why it is being claimed in the case of the Boston mafia is beyond my imagination.

Burton has more experience with this particular case. And if he believed what Bush was doing, there would not be this problem. Bush has obviously been keeping Burton shut out. And that is not a good sign.

I agree, and would like to add that people need to stop nickle and diming every single thing that comes out of this administration. WHY anyone could or WOULD think that Bush or anyone else in his administration would or could be in cahoots with the scumbag lying lowlife X42 and his minions defies logic.

Anyone? First it was the Mena buffs. Then Judicial Watch. Now we have the House Oversight Comittee, and by the way, the committee has more than one member in it. Don't you find it strange to be in league with Henry Waxman? Waxman, the guy who handed out 'take the fifth' kits? That is who supports Bush on this I would imagine. Meet your new friend.

Bush is out of his league. He's facing some tough problems and he has no instincts to apply to them. He is advisor and contributor bound, at this point. Best of luck to him. He's going to need it.

"WHY anyone could or WOULD think that Bush or anyone else in his administration would or could be in cahoots with the scumbag lying lowlife X42 and his minions defies logic."
OM, What do you have to say about Bush's OBVIOUS collusion with the lawbreakers. How could ANY thought on the subjet NOT include ".....that Bush or anyone else in his administration would or could be in cahoots with the scumbag lying lowlife X42 and his minions defies logic."???? It is obvious that Bush is protecting someone's ass from a sling, in the name of "national security". If not the previous scumbag in chief, then who? Peace and love, George.

Hey, you've been quiet lately.I hope the Bushies enjoyed the short respite 'cause I'm BACK now... hehehehehe.
Hope you are well,

I also want to "let's get 'em". But....
My feelings are that President Bush is trying hard to appear as "moving along". In this vein, I think he will make Dan Burton "force" the release of all this stuff. Mr. Burton is politically safe, and such, can get all of the info out.
I just have to believe there are some backroom dealings going on trying to figure out how to "politically" release the information without hurting the President or Republicans with the onslaught of negative coverage.
If I'm wrong, well....it's one heck of a bitter pill.

Post 10 ought have been addressed to you as well. Meet your new friend, Henry Waxman, the guy who passed out 'take the fifth' kits to Clinton's nuclear treason pals. Now you are on the same page with Waxman. And of course, Burton was not the only member in House Oversight that is demanding information from Bush. It is a committee after all. And I trust their judgement. If they don't trust Bush, then I don't. And they did a lot more work on this than Ashcroft when he was a senator.
To: SCHROLL
Did you ever stop to think that if Justice is building a case Well, there is no reason to think DOJ is "building a case". After all, early on Ashcroft disbanded the Campaign FinanceTask Force and sent Robert Conrad, its head, to be USAttorney in NC. It is Conrad's report about Middleton that Burton is seeking.
What, other than wishful thinking, would lead you to believe DOJ is "building a case"?
To: Arthur Wildfire! March
Alternative theory....If there was nothing in the documents..no one would care..so there is something there. And Burton has probably already seen it. This is a carefully choreographed facade to let Bush avoid seeming "partisan" and "mean-spirited"...it's been decided that Birton will do the heavy lifting on this one...Bush will be able to say, well, I tried to avoid giving it up, but I'm not going to ignore a Congressional subpoena.......when the crap comes out..no one will care how it got out..

Quit yer whining. You got your tax rebate, didn't you????

Since Dan Burton is my representative, I think I can comment fairly. Burton is first and foremost a Republican and would not grandstand purely for face time on TV. He has been determined to see some of this information.
Ashcroft has always behaved honorably. I cannot imagine that he would be involved in an active cover-up.
It does seem to me that the subpoena was issued very quickly after the refusal, unlike when Clinton was in power. It also seems to me that the energy commission refusal by Cheney plays into this, as well as the knowledge that anything that goes to Burton's committee also goes to WAXMAN.
I am waiting to see what else happens. Burton would not do something to undermine the administration, of that I am dead sure.
