Was that Wichita Falls, near Sheppard, back in the late 1970s? That situation sounds familiar.
Happened around 1974. The way the locals acted I would not have been surprised to find they did it again. The incident happened before I got there but I do know that Flood Street was declared off limits to all military personnel. There were some other downtown streets and establishments that were also off limits.
