My hat is off to you sir!

A lot of us (myself included until around 2013) have some kind of irrational worship for the US Constitution (as amended)... there are thoughts of “restoration” or “reclaiming” the type of political system we had in the first 120 (or 80, depending upon your personal view of States’ Rights) years of our nation. That ship sailed after 1913.

My epiphany came after the court decision for Obama care. I understood then that our Constitution had flaws and that those flaws had been exploited or expanded radically by bizarre court decisions that defied common sense. Those decisions certainly fit in with the desire of far too many evil people that want you to live according to their desires and seek constantly to get the power to do so.

The constitution of 1789 is the oldest in the world. It has been abused so badly that at this point, fixing it is not possible; it needs to be scrapped. We have learned plenty of lessons over the last 230 years; we can come up with a better governing document.

Mine came a few years earlier when Bush pushed Gonzales v Raich through the USSC, blowing out the tent pole that kept fed gov from smothering fans in the bleachers. It replaced the Republic with a Nation-state and removed the Constitution’s teeth, such as remained.
