It appears John McArthur is a Freemason.

All I've read says that his great-grandfather was both a Mason and a pastor. Nowhere did I read that John McArthur is a mason.

I have no clue to John MacArthur being a mason or not. But I beleive he, like many well known Bible teachers, has apparently never experienced John 3:8, for he avoids it if possible. Even though Jesus insists that there IS a supernatural sign, that one HEARS, and that it happens to EVERY ONE that is born of the Spirit.

John MacArthur has a lot of Masons in his genealogy. All of G.K. Chesterton's forebears were Protestants of different types or Unitarians. Yet Chesterton was one of the preeminent apologists for the Catholic faith in the first half of the last century. Charles Darwin had a thoroughly Christian heritage yet his theory of evolution contradicts the Bible, and only Marx is greater than Darwin in the atheist hall of heroes.

Judge MacArthur or any other man by his works and deeds and not those of his ancestors.
