Presbyterian Denomination Considers Barring Ordination of Clergy Who Aren’t LGBTQ-Affirming+ Make it Non-Negotiable

The scant number of remnant congregations within the PCUSA may soon dip even further after it was revealed the damnable denomination is taking up the legislation this summer in Salt Lake City at its upcoming 226th General Assembly that would prohibit the ordination of clergy candidates who aren’t LGBTQ-affirming.

It’s the natural progression for the PCUSA, which has denigrated to one massive pen for goats run by spiritual criminals and hirelings. From Church Fasting from ‘Whiteness’ During Lent to Church Releases ‘Transgendered’ Remix of ‘Be Thou My Vision,’ to Pro-Abortion Pastrix Says Stories of Jonah and Zacchaeus are Proof We Should Subsidize Birth-Control, this pro-LGBTQIA+, pro-abortion cauldron of wokeness and deviant perversion runs neck in neck with the ELCA in a contest to see which denomination hates Jesus more, and they usually come on top.

The overture, designated OVT-001, would completely alter two sections of their Book of Order, adding the underlined section.

1. Shall F-1.0403 be amended as follows:

“The unity of believers in Christ is reflected in the rich diversity of the Church’s membership. In Christ, by the power of the Spirit, God unites persons through baptism, regardless of race, ethnicity, age, sex, [gender identity, sexual orientation,] disability, geography, or theological conviction.

There is therefore no place in the life of the Church for discrimination against any person. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) shall guarantee full participation and representation in its worship, governance, and emerging life to all persons or groups within its membership. No member shall be denied participation or representation for any reason other than those stated in this Constitution.”

2. Shall G-2.0104b be amended as follows:

“b. Standards for ordained service reflect the church’s desire to submit joyfully to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in all aspects of life (F-1.02). The council responsible for ordination and/or installation (G-2.0402; G-2.0607; G-3.0306) shall examine each candidate’s calling, gifts, preparation, and suitability for the responsibilities of ordered ministry. The examination shall include, but not be limited to, a determination of the candidate’s ability and commitment to fulfill all requirements as expressed in the constitutional questions for ordination and installation (W-4.0404) [and in the principles of participation, representation, and non- discrimination found in F-1.0403]. Councils shall be guided by Scripture and the confessions in applying standards to individual candidates.”

The move to make affirming sexual perversion a non-negotiable is explained in the overture’s Rationale, which offers this “distressing” background.

Twice in 2022 Olympia Presbytery held ordination votes on the floor of presbytery involving ordinands with opinions that did not fully embrace the equal and affirmed status of LGBTQIA+ persons in the church. Those conversations were difficult because the Book of Order does not include gender identity or sexual orientation in its list of protected classes. These experiences reveal the need for denominational clarity concerning the church’s ministry to LGBTQIA+ individuals as full participants in all aspects of life in the church.

May this denomination wither and die as soon as possible.

“There is therefore no place in the life of the Church for discrimination against any person.”

Unless, that is the person who wishes to be ordained, but does not agree with affirming trans people.

God of the Bible (from both old and new covenants) is strongly anti-LGBTQ+!
There is just too many passages to list!
So I guess this congregation is against God.

Huh?!

So I can profess a belief in the eventual victory of Satan over God, and still become a "member in good standing?!"

Regards,

The PCUSA is predestined to go to hell.

Go woke, go broke.

Our former church (PCUSA) was on the conservative side of things, and many of the members were. But then the pastor started preaching about George Floyd and BLM. We got tired of hearing how racist we were because we are white.

I still am on their email list. A few weeks ago was an email asking for folks to increase their donations and a special church meeting about it.

Sad, as it was a great church, and does numerous great things for the community that brings glory to God.

I grew up in a Presbyterian church. I currently attend a Presbyterian Church in America church which began as a breakaway denomination from PCUSA in 1973 so hardly a new thing. The writing was obviously on the wall even back then. Currently our pastor is going through the book of Romans and chapter one covers the alphabet people and the sermon on that certainly wasn’t affirming of their sin. He’d be booted out if he was among the PCUSA but as the Eagles sang we’re already gone.

Yikes!

Last Sunday we attended a Presbyterian church for the first time, and liked it a lot. But it is PCA, not PCUSA. I did a lot of research and there’s a HUGE difference.

It seems that PCUSA is much larger, and they’re sure giving the conservative PCA a bad name for people who don’t understand there’s a difference.

I have a lot of questions for the pastor, though, before we make a decision to attend regularly.

I wish you well there. I’ve been satisfied and challenged at the one I attend. Been going for a year now.

PCA Presbyterian congregations are worlds apart from them. So far, that they are not the same denomination. At all.

Of course. Can’t be a member of their clergy if you don’t believe in their religion.

I admire the Presbyterians with this move.
If you are going be apostates, you might as well be 100% apostasy.

I’d rather see 100% of the wolf than 50% of the wolf in sheep’s clothing.

“ It seems that PCUSA is much larger”

They claim to be based on membership rolls but these are quite suspect. They don’t put as many people in the pews every Sunday as the PCA does.

How about Drag Queens stripping in place of Sunday Morning sermons?

If they don’t allow that it means they’re haters. Right?

And Sunday school can teach kids to think about their ‘real’ gender... Sterilize and sexually mutilate some of the young ones. Fun Fun Fun. More proof they’re ‘with it’ and cool and part of the ‘elite’.

Isn’t that what Christianity is all about after all? Go for it...

The pastor of the PCA church we visited on Sunday just called. He said there’s an even more conservative Presbyterian group called Evangelical Presbyterian. None of them is near us though.
