I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone: for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. ~ 1 Timothy 2:1-2

Lord God,
If we would just listen to You! If we would just do what You tell us to do, we could have the peace You want us to have. But so often, we allow fear, doubt, and all manner of anxious thoughts to encompass our minds. And we lose our peace.
Father, we know that peace is very important to You, and so it should be important to us as well. Our Savior died to give us peace---not the world’s peace, but the peace that passes all understanding that we have in and through Christ Jesus. Help us to seek that precious gift of peace at all times, Precious Lord.
Lord, so many are experiencing anxious thoughts and fearful days and nights. Please help each of us to put our trust and hope in You---the One Who never fails us. Help us to remember the times past when You rescued us, when You healed us, when You showed us the path to take. Let us never forget.
May our troops seek Your peace too as they search for You in the midst of chaos and strife. Help them to be able to find You in the Word and in the Still, Small Voice that speaks to them. Holy God, we hunger and thirst for the peace that only You can bring.
Thank You, Lord, for what Jesus paid for on the Cross of Calvary. Thank You for the nail-pierced hands, His blood that paid the price for our sins, and His body that was beaten and pummeled so that ours could be healed. We thank You for the safety and provision He purchased for those who trust in Him, for the obedience that He showed and the love that He demonstrated toward each of us who call Him Lord.
Holy God, we exalt You and we thank You for being the eternal God of the Universe---our Father. Thank You that we find shelter in Your everlasting arms where there is peace. Lord, You will give strength to Your people; You will bless Your people with peace. Oh how blessed we are! In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Lord Jesus, every day Your people see the wicked performing abominations and we grieve for a return to Your Righteousness. Yet let us always remember that even in the midst of raging storms You are our shelter, our Peace in times of chaos, evil, and madness. Let us always remember and give thanks.
