The “HeGetsUs” Christian campaign does not want to take a stance on abortion, claiming the issue has proven too divisive and loses sight of Jesus.

“The debate over abortion is a great example of how the real Jesus too often gets lost, overlooked or distorted in debates over political and social issues,” a spokesperson for HeGetsUs told Fox News. […]

“HeGetsUs” saw a spike in interest after purchasing two advertisements during the 2023 Superbowl game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. […]

The $20 million advertising campaign, funded in part by the family behind religious craft store chain Hobby Lobby, as well as Christian groups and other anonymous donors, bought two Superbowl ads centered on the idea that when it comes to Jesus, “He Gets Us.” …

Spot on.

Evil leftist use of Christianity for sheep to be sympathetic and nod along.

Point out that Joseph and Mary traveled to Bethlehem for the purpose of a census, which was to be used by Rome for purposes of taxation.///

I’m not positive but I thought they left that failure and actually read the bible. So the analogy is of Herod seeking to kill baby Jesus soon after he had been born and Mary and Joseph fled to Egypt. The commercial is still misleading since Jesus was at most 2 years old and this was done to fulfill prophecy. Never mind that few are fleeing because of the risk of being put to death.

Wasn’t there something about a millstone?

Now killing an baby is a political and social issue, rather than life or death moral.

But apparently some of their merchandise features the slogan “God is not homophobic”, and another of their ads talks about a teenager who gets pregnant and hides the fact—implying that it’s Mary. Both are blasphemous.

Actually while “’He Gets Us’ does not "get" that saving faith is one that abhors abortion, yet both your cited examples are technically correct: The term "homophobic" is a slur, and as wantonly applied, it is a perversion of the actual meaning of the word, which denotes an irrational fear of homosexuals/homosexuality, like as "hydrophobia" means having an abnormal fear of water, and claustrophobic means being abnormally afraid of closed-in places, and so forth.

Go thru a list of phobias and you can see that overall such are considered to be those of irrational fears, and thus the intent of the uncritical broad use of that label on anyone who opposes homosexual relations, no matter how rationally and morally motivated, is obviously a slur designed to impute a disorder upon anyone who opposes homosexuality and its relations, and thus silence and persecute such.

Thus God is not homophobic, or hydrophobic anything phobic fearing no one or thing. Meanwhile Mary would have kept herself from public view, but did not get an abortion.

But, if Jesus was a refuge, than we should accept anyone crossing the border at the urging of an Angel and loaded down with Gold, frankincense and Myrr.

This is so typical of the “appeal to all” approach of Christianity. Jesus’s appeal was a rather rigid discipline, that understood we would fail, but nevertheless demanded we try.

The slaughter of preborn children can hardly be pigeonholed as a political or social issue. For Christians it is an issue of the worth of human beings created in God’s image no matter their age, size, dependency, or how much they are wanted. These people are lukewarm.

I saw one of those commercials a while back, narrating the story of a family forced to leave their country for the usual reasons - political upheaval, criminality - showing the long lines of humanity trudging towards a better life. And then the final sentence of the narrator's voice, "Jesus was a refugee." That told me all I need to know about who or what is behind this outfit.

That's the one that turned me off, too. The family went to Bethlehem to pay taxes, not to flee political upheaval. Jesus chose to travel to Jerusalem to face political upheaval, not run from it. Jesus was no refugee.

They are cowards.

Tearing babies limb from limb inside their “mother” is an offering to Satan - refusing to address that truth is less than neutral, it only aids Satan in his work.

"Jesus was a refugee."

Joseph took his family to another kingdom, fleeing a direct personal threat on Jesus' life.

Matthew 19:14
New International Version

14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Exactly what part of the above don't these "HeGetsUs" IDIOTS understand?

There’s a ton of info about David Green (Hobby Lobby).
A couple quotes by David Green:

“But now our faith is being challenged by the federal government. The Health and Human Services “preventative services” mandate forces businesses to provide the “morning-after” and the “week-after” pills in our health insurance plans. These abortion-causing drugs go against our faith”

“Although Hobby Lobby’s insurance plans cover contraceptives that are preventative in nature, the company won’t cover anything that causes a chemical abortion, says David Green, Hobby Lobby’s founder and CEO.”
