Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent Is Your Name Over All The Earth!
How Mighty,
How Majestic,
and How Wonderful!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise and Worship,
For You Alone Are the Most High,
Ancient of Days,
Our Rock and Our Redeemer,
Our Refuge and Our Strength!
You Are the Creator of All Things,
And Yet, Even In Your Omnipotence,
You Give us the Privilege of Calling Out To You,
"Abba, Father!"

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands.

We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

My brother-in-law, who grew up near Salem MA, was an "Extra" in a movie about The Salem Witch Trials. He got paid to appear in raggedy period clothing, with hair and beard disheveled, in a crowd calling for death to the witch. (we often joke that he was also in a similar scene in Monty Python and The Holy Grail, but that wasn't him!). One doesn't need extraordinary acting skills to be an Extra, but it's a paycheck, and something to share with the grandkids many years later.

Modern filmmakers are less likely to hire Extras, as CGI can produce millions of life-like images of people. But, to me, it is not the same.

One of the most awesome scenes in the movie "The Ten Commandments" was the depiction of this Chapter. Filmed on location in Egypt, it involved a massive set, thousands of "Extras", and even members of the Royal Egyptian Cavalry riding their chariots. Here is a link to the scene.

The Pylons in this scene were over 100 feet high, and the Director, Cecil B. DeMille, suffered a significant heart attack while adjusting a camera. He lived to tell the tale, and it has become part of the movie's lore.

In the movie, the fictitious character of Dathan (played brilliantly by Edward G. Robinson) shows us that, no matter how wonderful a movement or cause, there are always malcontents and complainers that cause trouble. There are lots of flocks and herds in this scene as well. That is because, all during the Plagues, when Pharaoh kept reneging on his promises to let the People go, Moses kept insisting that not only his people go, but their flocks and herds as well. And Moses is leading this massive group of people and animals out front, on foot, with his staff, like a Shepherd.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
