‘Spiritual Wickedness’: Podcaster Warns Christians About BLM’s Practice of Conjuring Up Spirits of the Dead

A podcaster and Bible teacher recently exhorted Christians to be aware of the occultic spiritual practices of Black Lives Matter (BLM) and to practice discernment instead of linking arms with the organization.

“When the apostle Paul said that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness, this is what he was talking about,” said Abraham Hamilton II during his Aug. 19 “Hamilton Corner” broadcast entitled “The BLM Connection to Witchcraft.”

He played segments of a Zoom discussion between BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors and Los Angeles chapter co-founder Melina Abdullah to provide evidence of the group’s communication with the dead in their very own words.

“Maybe I’m sharing too much, but we become very intimate with the spirits that we call on regularly,” Abdullah said at one point during the interview. “Each of them seems to have a different presence and personality. I laugh a lot with Waukesha [Wilson] (who was found dead in a Los Angeles jail cell in 2017). And I didn’t meet her in her body, right, I met her through this work.”

Hamilton also noted that Cullors and Abdullah talked about summoning the spirits of the dead to work though them and accomplish their purposes, a practice in the Yoruba religion Odu Ifa.

“Hashtags are for us way more than a hashtag,” Cullors said. “It is literally almost resurrecting the spirit so they can work through us to get the work … done. I started to feel personally connected and responsible and accountable to them both from a deeply political place, but also from a deeply spiritual place.”

“In my tradition, you offer things that your loved one who passed away would want, whether it’s honey or tobacco or things like that,” she continued, referring to the creation of an “ancestor altar,” which is sometimes practiced in African cultures. “It’s so important, not just for us to be in direct relationship to our people who’ve passed but also for them to know we’ve remembered them. I believe so many of them work through us.”

Adullah talked about pouring out libation at the place where the African American person lost their life. Libation is an act that is defined as “a ritual pouring of a liquid as an offering to a god or spirit, or in memory of those who have ‘passed on.’”

“In case you don’t know it yet, they’re not talking about the Holy Spirit. They’re talking about channeling the powers of the ancestors, that it is the spirituality that enables them and empowers them to do this ‘justice work,'” Hamilton outlined.

He said that, consequently, the burgeoning “say their name” practice may not be as innocent as some think.

“They’re not doing what you think they’re doing. You think they’re just honoring people. They are conjuring up spirits,” Hamilton lamented. “These people really believe that the names of the folks that they’re saying have become ancestral gods that they are summoning when they require the attendees at these marches and these rallies to say their name.”

He pointed to Deuteronomy 18:9-12, which prohibits communication with the dead.

“When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that … useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord,” the Scripture states.

“We have churches that are putting up BLM banners in their churches. And I’m saying, ‘Lord, where’s the discernment?'” he lamented. “We have got to evaluate everything through the word of God.”

Hamilton said that while racism may be an issue that needs to be addressed, the ways of BLM are not the righteous means to accomplish it. “None of this is to say that there aren’t situations that exist where we need to grow in our demonstration and in our internalization of our love for our neighbors,” he stated. “But we don’t need to adopt some pagan spirituality Marxist organizational rhetoric to do it. We don’t need wicked help to obey God.”

As previously reported, an article published by the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs explained that “The Fight for Black Lives Is a Spiritual Movement.”

“The movement for Black lives … infuses a syncretic blend of African and indigenous cultures’ spiritual practices and beliefs, embracing ancestor worship; Ifa-based ritual such as chanting, dancing, and summoning deities; and healing practices such as acupuncture, reiki, therapeutic massage, and plant medicine in much of its work, including protest,” the article states in part.

Re: Leftists using spiritual wickedness said on podcast.... You actually believe in ‘witchcraft and curses’?

I am not a follower of any system of thought but belief in the one true God and no one else.

In the Bible God admonishes us to avoid the magicians, entrail readers, necromancers, astrologers and others who try to insert themselves as rivals for God's power. Not to simply laugh them off as fairy tale figures.

Micah 5:12 I will destroy witchcraft from your hand; and you shall have no soothsayers.

Isaiah 8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto the necromancers and unto the soothsayers, who chirp and who mutter, say, Shall not a people seek unto their God? Will they go for the living unto the dead?

Nehemiah 13:2 Because they met not the children of Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against them, that he should curse them: howbeit our God turned the curse into a blessing.

Numbers 23 For there is no spell against Jacob and no divination against Israel. It will now be said of Jacob and Israel, ‘What great things God has done!’

As with the Pharoah's magicians God does not say "oh what a childish and silly notion that such things work in real life", on the contrary he said several times to disdain them and fight them. At no time does any omen diviner or spell caster rival the power of God, if that's what you mean.

I have extremely little knowledge of Catholic exorcism, and Jewish battles against Dybbuks and demons. There is more and more evidence, in my opinion, that demonic power is being unleashed on the world by Democrats and BLM supporters, by any name.

God's power will defeat them all.

I saw that poster’s comments. Another case of where discernment is foreign to them. I think pride and arrogance has a lot to do with that particular posters attitude.

Absolutely!

It should be pretty clear by now. Jesus said in John 10:10 that “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.”

That’s exactly what BLM/ANTIFA are all about.

Thanks for those pictures. I feel like I just viewed a BLM Inc. or Biden demonstration.

I’d guess when Hillary wore her totally natural and fitting tall witch’s hat and smiled broadly, when someone said “Hillary, love the hat! Where’d you get it?”
She said: “Oh, it’s just one of mine I grabbed from the clothes closet at home. Er, Uh, I mean there’s a great Halloween place in town.”

So, the origin of the demonic actions of this “BLM” garbage group is revealed. These beliefs are antithetical to American values. They are certainly in violation of the Holy One, Blessed Be He’s edicts that sorcerers are not to be permitted to live, nor soothsayers, practitioners of witchcraft, nor those who call up the dead. People raised without proper spiritual values look for something else to fill the void, and these dangerously unanchored BLM idiots will latch on to anything, as this proves. They must be eliminated from our midst. They are a spiritual cancer as well as a cancer to the integrity of our nation’s functioning.

I always consider the historical context in which things happened or were uttered.

Jesus was speaking to a certain people, in a certain time - many of whom had little intellectual development and were influenced by lots of traditional superstition and symbolism.

The Devil - or ‘demons’- may have been useful designations for Evil, back then. But that doesn’t mean that modern people should personify and fear those same things, in the same way.

I believe that Individuals should stand up and take personal responsibility for their own minds and imaginations. What you believe in CAN hurt you; what you don’t, Cannot. And I don’t like any religious system that teaches people FEAR. Jesus, to me, seemed to be all about telling people to adamantly reject FEAR.

(I don’t think that Matthew 8:13 refers only to faith or belief in the Positive. I believe that the Law is simply that ‘it is done unto us’ AS we believe, either way.)

And I don’t take everything in the Bible absolutely literally. I doubt that you do, either.

No.

Human idiocy, willfulness, ego and greed explain a whole lot more than ‘demons’ do.

It’s simply called ‘materialism’ - the outlook that all that truly exists, all reality, is what we can see with our feeble eyes, feel with our material senses; and that there is nothing else that is Real; and nothing beyond this short, material existence.

The people doing Evil in the world are the ones who are MOST afraid, even though they don’t realize it.

Stop fearing THEM, and they lose the ‘power’ that they’ve brainwashed you into thinking that they have.

Their `power’ includes the ability to doxx, harass, assault and cancel, as well as arrest, incarcerate, convict and imprison or execute.

No matter what their frame of reference happens to be.

Oh.

I thought we were talking about disembodied demons - not leftist politicians and rogue FBI or other ‘alphabet’ dudes.

(Pardon me. I think I’ve stated before that I’m a pretty ‘literal’ sort of person. Good Night!)

What you believe in CAN hurt you; what you don’t, Cannot.

Sorry, creating your own reality doesn’t mean that reality doesn’t exist.

What you advocate is basically suicidal..

Jesus does not pander to people’s beliefs but rather tells it like it is and corrects wrong beliefs. If He says there’s a hell, then there is. If He says there’s a devil and He drives out demons, then there is and He did.

He certainly did not pretend to drive them out knowing they didn’t really exist just to cater to people’s belief systems. That would have made Him a fraud.and a liar and the Truth would not have been in Him.

You can disbelieve in spiritual reality all you want but then you have no reason to believe in God or Jesus either.

THIS is a crafty lie: “What you believe in CAN hurt you; what you don’t, Cannot.” Those who have heard the Gospel of God’s Grace in Christ and chosen to not believe are spiritually dead and the consequences of being spiritually dead are eternal ...

I believe profoundly in ‘spiritual reality’; in fact, I doubt the reality of the one apparent to my senses and believe, as Thomas Wolfe so poetically put it, in the reality ‘Whereon the pillars of this earth are founded’.

I just don’t believe that everything that Jesus said, as it has come down to us through a very complex path, should be taken absolutely literally by people 2000 years later. A lot of it, certainly; but not all.

If ‘the LORD our God, the LORD is ONE’, as the Bible (and the tradition of Jesus himself) tell us, there doesn’t seem any room in there for a competing, antagonistic personality; except as we conjure one up in our very narrow, earthly imaginations. Many of the people to whom He was speaking contemporaneously had very small, limited and superstitious imaginations, and he spoke to what they ‘understood’.

We were discussing the concept of personified evil, aka ‘Satan’, and his purported minions, ‘demons’.

Please tell me how Satan can harm me, if I don’t believe in the old bugbear.

Philippians 4:8 has always served me very well. I think it’s one of the most important verses in the entire NT.

No.

I believe that human beings do evil things to innocents; and they don’t need any help beyond their own depraved imaginations.
