Yes, it was. This thing is known as the Pachamama and is a fertility/ earth goddess. There was a photo a couple of years ago of Cdl Ravasi and a few local local bishops dancing around it (it’s always placed on a blanket) somewhere in Latin America. People wondered at the time why there was no comment on this. I guess it’s because the pope himself is a devotee.
The statue was brought into St Peter’s on a flower and fruit covered canoe yesterday, formally received by the pope and cardinals at the great door, and then it was placed on a blanket in the center. Oh, and it was followed by dancing young men and older ladies (none of them Indian, as far as I could see) who were carrying a large net. The net was rainbow colored, to make it even better.
Finally, one of the things that most people didn’t notice on Sunday was that the Indian Shamaness placed a black ring, called a Tucum, on the pope’s finger during his garden idol veneration ceremony. The ring is made from a local palm tree nut and is the symbol of adherents of liberation theology, which has essentially substituted the Pachamama for Christ. The idea of the pope wearing a black ring instead of or even in addition to the Fisherman’s Ring is chilling.
What are we to do? When will somebody in power say something? This truly is apostasy.

Church Militant just included Fr Mark in today’s news update. Bishop Strickland has applauded him and says Fr Mark should be a speaker at the Synod.
