Commitment to Fighting Climate Change Still Weak, Pope Says

ROME - The international community must ramp up its efforts if it expects to mitigate the negative effects of climate change, Pope Francis said.

In a video message sent Sept. 23 to participants at the U.N. Climate Action Summit in New York, the pope said that while the 2015 Paris climate agreement raised awareness of the “need for a collective response,” the commitments made by countries “are still very weak and are far from achieving the objectives set.”

“It is necessary,” he said, “to ask whether there is a real political will to allocate greater human, financial and technological resources to mitigate the negative effects of climate change and to help the poorest and most vulnerable populations, who suffer the most.”

According to its website, the goal of the U.N. Climate Action Summit is to “ensure the global focus on climate gains momentum” as well as to make sure that “there is scrutiny on the investments countries are making in fossil fuels vs. renewables.”

Calling climate change “one of the most serious and worrying phenomena of our time,” the pope said that states have a duty to fight against it and that despite the weak response, a “window of opportunity is still open.”

“We are still in time. Let us not let it close. Let us open it with our determination to cultivate integral human development, to ensure a better life for future generations. It is their future, not ours,” the pope said.

The pope should focus on Catholicism not on globalist BS. This Pope is no Pope.

Commitment to Fighting Climate Change Still Weak, Pope Says

Commitment to fighting homosexuality in the Church, to fighting communism and socialism, to fighting Islam, to fighting global warming hoaxters, to fighting abortion still weak, orthodox Catholics say.

It’s because we do not BELIEVE IT! Where did the church’s faith in an all powerful God go? It’s gone from “He’s got the whole world in His hands” to “We’ve got the whole world in our hands”. Good luck with that. To misquote a former president “That’s above our pay grade.

He is not a senile old fool- he has an agenda, and it has nothing to do with religion.

Our church with a traditional priest is not rotting away. Are you doing your part to keep your local church on the narrow path towards Jesus Christ?

In fact, our church is growing. Father told us today that there would be 56 First Communions — and that’s not counting the Hispanic ones.

Why not count the Hispanic Catholics? Is there a reason?

help the poorest and most vulnerable populations, who suffer the most

Indulgences now on sale, minus the usual 50% service fee of course.

I’ve always said the same thing in a different way.

The left worships the State and since then want to control the state they are asking us to worship them.

No different than an ancient emperor demanding to be worshiped as a god.

Pope’s commitment to ending abortions and freeing millions of Catholics from communist oppression is weak

Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff.
