Heavenly Father –

As the election 2020 campaign kicks off with Democrat debates, may we remember You, Lord, as the One who governs the affairs of our nation as well as the world. And our founding fathers understood this and it gave them courage:

We confess we have forgotten You, Lord, as the Giver of our human rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Human rights You established, Lord, when You lead the children of Israel out of bondage (slavery) into freedom.

We confess our ungrateful spirit as we have taken the freedoms and inalienable rights for granted. As our baser natures take over, we find ourselves on the slippery slope back into slavery of socialism. Even worse, the unbridled control of the flesh, of which there is no good thing.

May Your hand turn the hearts of the electorate in 2020. Raise up godly leaders to call us back to righteousness. May corruption be mitigated and the integrity of our votes be guarded. May Your Spirit fill and empower President Trump and Vice President Pence. Protect them from the relentless attacks of the enemy within. Grant them discernment, strength, and courage to do the right thing during these evil days.

May Your Spirit convict Your people and give them a heart of repentance. May that spark a revival and ignite another Great Awakening and bring healing our land.

May God’s people stand their ground and fight for what is right as best we see the right. And if it be Your will, may America become great because our people put their trust in You.

Please heal our land from the scourge of metal health disorders, addiction, and hopelessness especially among the youth and especially adult men. Deliver us LORD in the spirit of Psalm 34.

Father, I confess that I have been haphazard in my prayers for members of Congress, Governors, State representatives and senators. Truly this is the feed into potential Presidential candidates and both the support and opposition to what You are doing in the Executive branch.

Therefore, I pray for these public servants. Along with my brethren, I pray for servants called by Your name, who hear Your voice and have Your strength and determination to stand up for righteousness. Bring them Your favor and support and defend them as they climb to the positions to which You have called them. May those currently serving be blessed with the knowledge of Your grace by Your Spirit. Send them Your Word, godly counselors and the blessing of hearing Your call and voice. As You pour out Your Spirit upon them, we believe that they will dream dreams, see visions, prophesy and live, breathe and have their being in You. Thank You, Sir, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
