I remember reading the following saying a few years back: “A tattoo is a permanent expression of a temporary feeling.”

I agree with this. Having been around people who routinely get tats most of my life I made one promise to myself concerning tats. I had to be 100% sure I would like it as much in 5 years as I do the day I wanted one. To this day I still haven't found one that I would be that sure about in just 5 years let alone the rest of my life.

I did that. It took me about 5 years to decide to get my first one. I worked with the tattoo artist and we took months to get it just so. I got it 8 years ago (at age 49 so, old enough to know what I was doing lol) and still love it, along with the other 2 I had done 2 years later. They are very personal and symbolic. They are on my shoulders and upper back so, only show when I wish them to be.
I am sad that many here will judge me for my decision but I am not here to impress anyone. God knows my heart and that is all that matters.
