In churches, and elsewhere, less feeling and more thinking is a good thing. I have witnessed way to many spiritual “feelings “ attributed to the holy spirit than I could possibly count. If you don’t agree with Andy (I am not defending him) you need to articulate why. Don’t pull the holy spirit thing. I have seen that done in regards to the color of the carpet.

Darius,
As a Jew with years of education which turned me into an atheist (I tend toward the “Just the facts, Madam” school of inquiry, i.e., reason vs. faith) let me say that whatever this thread is trying to sort out, I agree with you. Whether or not you believe in a mystical realm, man is given as part of his survival tool the faculty of reason. Reason, as Jefferson said, must trump faith in matters of state and/or relations among men. Sadly, this faculty is less used than in the days of olde.
